Hi guys,

Company car renewal time - unfortunately they've changed all the rules recently and as such am now have very limited choice as to what I can get.

Citroen C5 Diesel Saloon HDI 16V VTR 4Dr
Ford Focus Diesel Hatchback Tdci Zetec 5Dr
Ford Mondeo Diesel Hatchback Tdci Eco Edge 5Dr [start Stop]
Honda Insight Hatchback IMA Hs-t Hybrid 5Dr CVT
Peugeot 508 Diesel Saloon HDi Active 4Dr
Skoda Superb Diesel Hatchback TDI CR S Greenline II 5Dr

The tax is going to a lot lower from my current car (Civic 2.2 Diesel) they're all 1.6s :( :( (well apart from the insight which is a 1.3 :p).

There's little point in me taking the cash option at the moment as we have a second car at home but don't fancy buying a car for the mileage I may have to do.

The only cars I've driven are the mondeo and focus. This mondeo is poverty spec though :/

I'm aiming towards the Focus at the moment, as it's well specc'ed but the 508and C5 is tempting having been in some of my colleague's cars. I think the Focus would be the most "fun"... but with 115bhp it's going to be less than fun. At least my civic's got 140.

Unfortunately, you have to be director level to get the audi/merc/bmw options which I am not.

Spec is more important as I like my creature comforts.

I may well buy a second car next year just for fun (i.e. something sporty) but from the list above, what do you guys reckon? I know... it's pants. :/ Maybe I should just go the cash option....

another superb shout, but definitely look at the pug too, they are supposed to be quite good.

That's what I was thinking the Superb is loaded by default with toys - but so is the 508. I quite like the look of it.

Ultimately, I need something that's happy to sit on the motorway as well as comfy stuck in traffic in and around London.

At first i thought this thread was about a car through a limited company :p

What is the tax difference on those?

The Insight is lowest due to non diesel and there is a sub100 but thats going anyway as they phase the 3% BIK jump out on diesels by 2015 IIRC.

Focus or Skoda for me. Initially I thought the Skoda, but will the 1.6 engine even be able to get that bus up a hill??

I'd test drive both as comfort and toys seem to be your priority...

The superb will be terrible with that engine in it its a shockingly slow thing even in a golf! Its by far and away the best car on that list otherwise (unfortunately?).

Its a pretty depressing mix of engines so I guess it depends on what you can put up with, the focus should be the least horribly slow I guess so i'd either have that or if going for big car tiny engine the skoda
