HIS releasing fastest 7970 X2

Nice price. I like the specification describes it as hugely overclockable. If people can't get 1300Mhz outta that chip I can see some unhappy customers lol

Obviously incredibly unaesthetic compared to the 690 but that doesn't count for too much when the cards are upside down in your case anyway.

I would be amazed if they get 1300MHz- is that not already hard on a single 7970? Dual 1300MHz would be great if possible. Can never get away from AMD microstutter issues on their Xfire drivers. Even if their scaling is very good indeed, microstutter just never goes away.

Oh dear! that's not been my experience, its unfortunate if that's always been the case for you.

Well it's good to hear a positive view on microstutter to contrast my negative experiences. I do know that I'm really hypersensitive to it.

Im hypersensitive to it tearing so i Vsync which also cancels out microstutter in the few titles that i noticed it in which has been 3.
So you went from AMD 7xxx CF to a NV 580.

I had a little bit of microstutter with 5850 crossfire and tonnes of it with 4850 crossfire.

None with 680 SLI but to be fair, 5850 crossfire was almost OK for me... I would imagine it's improved since then somewhat too.

AMD 6xxx was worse than 5xxx and the 7xxx is meant to be better than both.

Quadfire 3870, COD was bad on early drivers, Quadfire 5970, BF2BC early drivers both fixed quite quickly and BF3 with no Vsync.

The 6990 has been stutter free, the 6990+6970 and my current quadfire 6990's are stutter free "TO ME"... so I don't care. Be very interested to see a price and a true release for this card though, although I doubt they'll ever release now to the public, think it's been too long.

No stutter for me when I had my 6950>70's, never noticed it either on 7970+7950 CrossFire either, but I only used it for a few days.

Maybe It's because I had my rig set up properly and mainly stayed away from beta drivers...

...tommy runs and ducks for cover.:D
