Hi guys and girls. Me and my mates are going to Nottingham on the Sat 1st Dec.

We will be going up on the Saturday morning and coming back Sunday Evening. I need recommendations for restaurants please we will eat once we arrive and on the Sunday when we leave. Also if there are any special activities we can do before the actual nightout in Nottingham please let me know. As for the night time can you tell us all the different areas and what types of bars are there? We'll decide where to go with the information. Thank you.

Depends what food you want, how much you want to pay for the food, how much you want to spend on the night out etc.

Activity wise, there's the usual paintballing, go-karting etc but nothing like that in the city centre. You'd be looking at having to taxi to whatever and this'll cost £40-50 I imagine each way, maybe more.

City centre 'activities' are really just the cultural things like museums and galleries.

Give us an idea of the food/drink aspect and I'll give you a list of places :)

Foodwise no budget we all don't mind spending a few bob. I recently went to Manchester and we went to this place here's the main menu : http://blackhouse.uk.com/media/menus/0027MH_BH_MainMenu_generic.pdf

Anything sort of food really as-long as it's good we don't mind mixing it up. I've been to a few San Carlo's I've enjoyed etc.

As for night out I'd just like to know about all the places keep the options open just in-case we don't like the place we're at. Nottingham is quite small? So it shouldn't be a problem walking from one to the other.

Decent places to eat - http://www.thesoulvillesteakhouse.com/ is a good steakhouse

http://www.kayalrestaurant.com/ - decent indian but a bit a different to your standard indian.

Can vouch for those two places to eat.

As for night time:-

Bars
Saltwater
Tilt - Run by two guys, both proper sound. Got your typical menu of cocktails etc, but ask them for something sweet for example and they'll hook you up with some bespoke cocktail! Fairly expensive though ~£6-7.
Spanky Van Dykes
Baa Bar - Plenty of snatch!
Dogma - Has a downstairs bit too with a DJ playing a bit of everything.
Living Room
Brass Monkey
Market Bar
Pitcher & Piano

Clubs
Gatecrasher - Not sure how much it is now to get in but expect to pay a fair amount for drinks. I'm talking say £4-5 for a single Vodka & Lemonade.
Stealth/Rescue Rooms - depending on your music tastes it might not be your cup of tea. Saturday's it's usually a mix of Indie/Rock in Rescue. Stealth has Drum & Bass, Dubstep, Electro etc. Keep an eye on your wallets too!
Cookie Club - Various rooms. Never been but heard it's good!
Forum

Usually loads of promo people dotted around the place handing out tokens for a free shot at Revolutions too for example.

Got the usual pubs too; Walkabout, Lloyds, Wetherspoons etc.

If you need any other info just holla.

Enjoy your night!

Also in Nottingham!

I think Gee has missed out one amazing bar.. coco tang! Slightly expensive but some awesome and innovative cocktails, depending on what night you go there will either be a student clubby night or a fancy bar :)

Knew I missed something out! Love Coco Tang! Bouncers can be a little strict sometimes on groups of lads; try split yourselves up in groups of 2-3 or try pull some ladies and bring them with you! I recommend the Amaretto Sour!

JuJu Bar down Hockley is always pretty lively too.

Right boys thanks for the input.

Food:

Saturday - Jamie's Italian. I know this place probably won't be anywhere near as good as some of the places mentioned in this thread and the others linked but well my mates are the type to say at-least they've had the chance to go to it.

Sunday - Hooter's. Simply for the experience ha. Food will most likely be dire.

As for the nightout are the bars spread out or are they in similar areas? I'll google all suggestions one by one :)

Bars are all quite central near the square. Baa baa bar and all the neighbouring bars are good and open late. There is bodeca social which is great, usually live dj's knocking out house and breaks. Opposite that is the pit and pendulum, a bit of a gothic bar with a toilet behind a book case. Go downstairs there and there is a dungeon, good music in the form of rock and metal too ;-) behind pendulum is tantra bar, with beds for you to lounge on and be served by waitresses while you lay out and watch live jazz (you need to book in advance to get a bed though).

Nightclub wise you can't beat rock City or rescue rooms. Rock City is dirty and grimy just how I like it. Big place though with a variety of music. Rescue rooms is next door and plays a good mix of dnb, dance etc. There is also stealth which you should look up to.

There is a dog race track nearby if you're looking for something else to do in the day.
