Ive had a google of this, but nothing seems to come up at my relevant point, nor has the issue(s) seem to be resolved.

The spoiler is embedded within the problem, so have hidden it just incase there are a few that havent bought the game yet.
Ive just set up the new beacon to get back to Sanctuary. Initially when I tried doing it, there was still a few loaders left and I was on low HP, so thought it glitched slightly and I got killed as I tried to use the fast travel.
I then restarted the game and the same crash happens with no loaders about.

I can walk around fine, go do other stuff, but to progress, I need to get to sanctuary.

I would try and re-install the game, but would prefer if there are any other possible fixes before doing that.

GPU/ CPU isnt a problem in terms of both stability and temps, cpu maxes at 50c and gpu 55c, both on very mild and stable OC's.

Thanks

So does the game crash? or does it just not trigger the end of the mission after killing the loaders? Because I had the latter problem and I ran around for ages looking for a stuck loader or something but couldn't find any. I ended up going into the Irish bar near the catch a ride and then when I came back out for some reason the end of the mission triggered.

Game actually crashes, always when the background to where your going loads (in this case Sanctuary) and the gun starts turning it crashes.

Just re-installed steam and borderlands and its the same problem in the same place with the same error.

I have no idea what to do, first install (first instance of issue) was installed from a disk, the same issue again, but after installing from steam.

the game has always crashed but how and where varies quite a lot, it crashed last night too !

it usually crashes once every two days.... but this is no worst than Crysis 2

that is bad..... go to the Gearbox forum and post in there, where the experts are !!!!

Well no luck on the Gearbox forum, but a friend said that Im not fully uninstalling the game, which may be why its still corrupt.
Now he doesnt know how to do this, but does anyone know how to uninstall a game on steam without deleting the save files?
Dont really want to start again.

Your save files are located in your documents folder, in the games folder. Just backup the entire Borderlands 2 folder as its only like 2mb.

mine crashed really bad last night in Sanctuary, maybe the latest drivers might help, i've just downloaded them.

this more serious fault has only appeared with Gunzerker and since going online last week, it's just a buggy game right now, it crashed twice last night and the last time in Sanctuary it went into ``safe mode``

Well I reinstalled the game fully and it works now, but some of my other games have knackered up. I think I've either got a virus that can get through a heap of security, steams corrupt all my games before the installation or my hdd is shot.

I'm thinking more steam is corrupt, I don't see any viruses getting through and I check my hdd every week for bad sectors....

Sad times

right, i presume you havent switched software recently, i.e XP to Win 7 because it will really screw up your rig if you have Win XP system 32 Steam save files on a new Win 7 rig... it screwed me up completely, it clashes big time, every game had to run in compatability mode and as slow/ buggy as hell

if you have reinstalled everything and it's all fresh and new but it's still doing it, you will need a new C drive, you will then have to download all your games off Steam again.

do not save anything..... this is a fresh install from brand new, i had exactly the same problem, you must not keep a thing that refers back to Win XP.

Nope, same Win7 install from about June (when I bought my SSD).
My steam and all games are on my E (storage) drive.

Since I last played anything on steam (before any mess up with games), everything was working perfectly, switched the PC off and left it for a week. Come 3 days ago, first start up since and nothing works.
Havent moved the pc, no rewiring jobs, not even unplugged the computer and plugged it back in which potentially could have jolted something (I know the last bit is seriously low chance, but you never know).

Im going to be buying a new SSD soon for a dedicated steam/ game drive, so maybe that will rectify it.
