can anyone help.. my apps won't connect to the internet, store, weather. but if i open internet from desktop it works?? anyone know how to get them to connect?

I made a usb bootable from my win 8 PRO x64 upgrade and when I did a fresh install it was automatically activated, YMMV![]()
Make sure you don't have the DNS Client disabled in services.
Also for anyone using the latest version of Avast, disable the Network Shield, it was interfering with me accessing my routers web setup, it was either extremely slow, or parts of the page wouldn't load.
one of the first things i did was turn off border padding, have to do it via registry now.
where do i find if dns client is disabled?

Search for services from the start screen, or type services.msc into run and then just check the DNS client is running.
mine took 5min on Thursday nightWow, the download through upgrade advisor is taking ages.
