Make sure you don't have the DNS Client disabled in services.

Also for anyone using the latest version of Avast, disable the Network Shield, it was interfering with me accessing my routers web setup, it was either extremely slow, or parts of the page wouldn't load.

Upgraded and getting used to the thing, I must say the speed and smoothness of everything is phenomenal :)

Got my 1000 free Microsoft points due to being a Zune subscriber to use now as well :D

Anyone having any problems with Windows 8 nvidia drivers?

306.97 - could enable sli after restarting computer via baloon icon (bottom right notification on desktop) but consequently could not open the nvidia control panel thereafter

310.33 - cannot enable sli

... now downloading 306.23 and hope this will work.

Recieved the OEM from OcUK this morning (thank you 5UB for sorting it out!) :D

All up & running, I miss Aero from the release preview but apart from that all is good! :)

I'm going to go to Windows 8 Pro, one question I have is it says that MSE is not supported on Win 8 as it comes with a full AV suite known as Windows Defender and it's more like MSE than previous versions.

Anyone who used MSE and has gone to Win 8 care to comment on how it works?

Oh yeah I'm picking up the Microsoft Touch Mouse to see how well it works with Windows 8, will anyone be interested in thoughts/impressions of it?

I have a strange permissions issue, I can't copy files from my NAS to C:\program files, I can copy from there to the NAS and from my NAS to my desktop though.

I'm also getting pretty decent speeds from my NAS :D

Just had a bit more of an in depth look into this, and it does seem better than 7, for single monitor users at least.

I currently run a two monitor setup with a load of rainmeter widgets on the left monitor and general browsing goes on the right. When I start working I have lots of windows open across both monitors. I really like this setup, my only gripe is that hitting fullscreen on videos spans the video across both monitors if I don't disable the eyefinitiy group and go back to cloned screens (I've got a chrome extension to circumvent this for youtube, but its still annoying for WMP-HC and other web-videos).

So how does windows 8 perform with two monitors? Can you still use bezel compensation and have a single multi-monitor taskbar? What are the advantages?

I Really think MS have done a good job with windows 8, its something different and fresh. Instead of the same old start menu layout.

Who thinks the next Mac osx will be more like iOS ? :p I think it will...
