The name's Bond. James Bond. Skyfall

I saw it earlier, all three of us thought it was great. I'm not sure that I preferred it to Casino Royale, but it was brilliant. I cannot help but wonder what planet those who thought Quantum of Solace was better are living on.

There are a few bits I didn't like:

The pathetic and consistent references to previous Bond movies and clichés... And Q was bad. However, in spite of all of that, I still had a great time in the cinema.

I liked
Q
myself, and all the references were really because it was the 50 year anniversary and they wanted to pay a proper homage.

Saw it last night and really enjoyed it. My only criticism is that they showed too much in the trailers and it ruined some of what turned out to be the best bits. Vast improvement from the previous two films though which I struggled to like :(

I saw this late last night

It's ok

Not a patch on Casino Royale, no way!!! Casino Royale is in a different league. This one, erm.....well what can I say

Like the previous poster, it's all over the place.

The start has the bond from Casino Royale and Quantum, then (and I won't post any spoilers) something happens to him. Then he seems to be an unfit, recovering alcoholic who can't shoot straight. He gets emotional, and it not funny with his one liners.

I really struggled with it to be honest

It's a good film (let's be honest, standards are at an all time low with movies at the minute IMHO) but not a good Bond film.

No exotic locations
No DBS!!!! (hell, they could have at least used an RS5 at the start)
Bond girls are lame, and have hardly any screen time
Q!!!! don't even start me on that guy

Love it when she said 'You haven't seen fear like this, not with him'. Then walks out the campest lamest baddie you've ever seen. Proper pantomime bad guy. When he walked into the chapel at the end, I didn't even fear for M. Reminded me of that criminal guy from the Simpsons

Scenes which made me think of other films

Turkey - Indiana Jones
China - Mission Impossible
Komodo Dragon Scene - Star Wars
London - Borne Identity mixed with Johnny English
Scene with Baddie in cage removing teeth (The Mummy)
Scotland - Home Alone

After the last 30 second scene of the film I thought.....what kind of Bond movie is this?

The only way I can sum up this film, is that it never sucked me in. I never felt part of the film, more like one of the crew making the film.

Agreed

Saw this after lunch, really enjoyed. Could have had a few bigger set pieces along the way, but it was a very good film. I definitely liked the fact that they took away all of the silly gadgets for this one.

Saw this tonight, apart from some sellotaped-together bits early on, I thought it was an excellent Bond movie. Javier Bardem was great, good mix of humour, action, legacy, etc. Bond, Moneypenny, M, Mallory, all excellent, well cast parts.

I'm not ruining anything for anyone by saying that it looks like they're setting themselves up nicely for some good Bond films to come.

Cinema was sold-out, apparently had been all day, and the whole crowd seemed to really enjoy it. Definitely worth a look.

Going to see it on monday afternoon. I'm seriously getting fed up with the tv ads for it though.
