I quite like sitting in Starbucks doing work and watching the world go by, but it would be nice to find some little hidden independent coffee shops to try out.

Does anybody here frequent any? I've tried Kaffiene which is lovely coffee but there are never any seats free :(

:D Not far off tbh. Although it's coding rather than writing ;) Just too many distractions at home

Surely there is more distractions in a busy coffee shop? Plus you have the added embarrassment of being "that guy" who's taking up a whole table for hours sipping his £1 house coffee.

Aaaaallllrightly then. :D

Prufrock - Leather Lane *my personal favourite in London*
Department of Coffee - Leather Lane
Caravan - Kings Cross *Not actually tried this one yet, but heard good things from people I trust*
Tapped & Packed - Tottenham Court Road and also at Rathbone Place
Workshop Coffee - Clerkenwell Road
Ozone Coffee - Leonard Street *coffee isn't as good as the above, food is excellent though*
Notes Music & Coffee - Trafalgar Square
DunneFrankowski - Hewett Street *their brewed coffee is superb*
Shorditch Grind - Old Street

That should do for starters.

A good coffee was the one thing I could never find in the UK.

When?

There's more and more independent places that do good coffee around the place now.

Even out in Nawfuk, where phone lines are made from string and electricity is looked upon with suspicion. ;) *I'm a Nawfuk boy*

Were you by any chance looking in places like this?

You'll not get much coding done in a coffee shop. Try a library. Added bonus is you have a knowledge base of books to hand...

Good ones around I've been to in London are:

MacBook's

My Coffee is Significantly More Expensive than Yows

The Snobby *******

No way I can't believe that made the swear filter :p

Cafe Vergano? One near Leicester Square, and one in the Southbank.
Flat Planet? At the top of Carnaby Street.
