So here she is then, my little BMW 125 Coupe (3 litre version) .... Rapid isnt the word especially when coming from a Peugeot 207 1.4 ;)

I asked the same question, bmw site says 218bhp, which seems fairly low for a 3 litre?

It is 218bhp, which is why its badged 125i despite being a 3 litre. It is more cost effective to over two different outputs of 3 litre engine than it is to specifically offer a 2.5 litre engine.

All 125i's are 3 litre N52B30's.

The 1 Series Coupe/Cab has only two engine sizes across the range - 2 litre and 3 litre.

Yes, 218BHP stock, but this one has been re-mapped to around 240BHP which I can assure you is amazing compared to my 75 bhp 1.4 haha

Its a full specc'ed one aswell... Sat Nav, heated half leather lighting pack etc

Yes the coupe but the 1 series as a whole, the x30i is the perfect balance

Even in the hatch it was shortlived, it was discontinued not long after the facelift so most of them are getting on a bit now.

It's also no more economical than a 135i really.

What are the actual differences in the engines apart from the map? inlet manifolds etc?

I believe it is as simple as the inlet manifold being different and the rev limiter on the 330i is 600rpm higher. With this in mind, the N53 must have designed as a ~270bhp engine which has been choked down to 218bhp by fitting a restrictive manifold and lowering the rev limit.
