Best free DVD ripper

Title basically says it all, I'm looking for the best free DVD ripper that can rip copy protected DVDs to my computer. If it is GPU accelerated for faster ripping that would be a bonus. Thanks

Is this stuff legal now? Years since I looked for new software and I got clone DVD years ago with lifetime updates. All those years ago this couldn't be discussed.

I thought it was legal to make copies for your own personal use (provided you legally own the DVDs of course). I just want to make copies to back them up and so I don't need to have my whole DVD collection taking up space at uni (my parents can then store them at home). I'm pretty sure it is fine if it only for personal viewing, it becomes illegal when you start selling copies. Or that's how I thought it worked anyway.

Nope, it's all illegal, as is ripping CDs into MP3s. But I'd be really surprised if anyone was arrested over it as long as you don't start selling the MP3s or movies on.

The new Digital Economy Act is looking to make it legal to rip CDs and DVDs for personal use though.
