hi im looking to buy a volvo s60 r awd they are 300 bhp, 0-60 in 5.5 secs limited to 155mph, remap to 360bhp

has anyone owned one or driven one, there about £4000 now

how do they compare to say a subaru or a evo or audi s4?

anything good/bad i should know? thanks

Running costs are pretty expensive compared with say a t5, the awd system can fail very expensivley also, the awd on the later phase2s is much more reliable.

I'd be tempted to get a top spec t5 instead, or another car altogether if you want 300hp plus.

i dont mind fuel costs itll just be a weekend toy, insurance is very cheap £600 full comp (im 24) tax is alright too, got a local volvo specialist very well priced charged me £150 to do cambelt/tensioners/aux belt on my d5 and £40 to do an oil filter change

300 bhp aint must aslong 0-60 less then 6 secs

He doesn't care what you think btw, he'll just buy the cheapest nail he can find anyway and then change it for something else 3 weeks later.

a nail what u on about? the last 10 or so cars ive had have been 1 owner with full dealer history ive had glitches but who hasnt, if its a big glitch i sell i dont like piling thousands into a car thats always going to loose money

How do you manage to punt on broken cars or ones with serious issues without throwing money down the drain?

Actuality scrub that, I already know the answer.

I had one for a month or two before sending it back for dealer issues.

As a car, it was great to drive, very smooth but sounded good and went well. Terrible running costs though with around 19mpg on average and I drive quite easy going, for example I averaged 30+ with my 335i on the same driving.

Make sure it has full history and be careful with the angle gear if I remember correctly. I think thats a weak point of the car and should have been changed at some point (ideally). Interior was comfy but old school.. so not much in the way of technology like mp3/bluetooth etc. It didnt encourage you to drive it for some reason. It was rapid, it felt faster than the 335i, but it just wasnt as fun... it also felt more stressed than the 335i... i cant explain it... but it just did.

Overall, I do like them, but the awful fuel ecomony puts me off another and I'm not normally bothered by that. Some say that the later versions of the t5 are a better buy and a better car (almost as quick)

I would consider another but it would have to have a 100% excellent history with no gaps and be pretty cheap.

hmmm ive heard a couple of bad things on other forums too

any other cars u guys recommend?

want to spend £5000 max, can be auto or manual, 0-60 less then 6 secs, not FWD, AWD or RWD

its abit of a pap weekend toy. more of a nice comfy cruiser tbh.

a friends brother had a v70R and was gorgeous but not really a hoon wagon

So you don't want something that's driven by the fronts, backs, or all four wheels?

What? So you want it to just be driven on the left or right side? :D

The last 10 cars?? WTF, I've not even owned 10 cars. Stop being a pleb, buy a decent car as much as you can afford, and keep it till it dies.
