cant you see them as disgusting perverted men who happen to claim to be muslim? same for a catholic priest do you think they are what catholics represent when they abuse children? No they are not and it is stupid to identify their behaviour through religion or skin colour.

That would actually require some thinking though, it's easier to just blame the Muslims for everything that is wrong in there life.

What I don't understand is why being anti-Muslim is considered racist? I thought we were discussing their religion/culture, not the pigmentation in their skin. ON our customer database, we have to enter in their demographics. Religion and ethnic origin are separate drop-down menus.

labour was going to bring in a anti Islam law which would made it illegal to speak out against it! I suspect it will be law if those idiots get back into power.

To be honest, my problem with most criticising laid against Islam is that it's not often from upstanding members of the community who support equality for all (and therefore have a problem with the way women/gay people are treated in Islam).

It's petty small minded racists who simply hate them because they are brown (mostly) & use the suffering of women/homosexuals to justify racism (while holding sexist and homophobic views themselves).

Because when most people say "Muslin", particularly as part of an attack on it, what they actually mean is "Arab". The majority of Muslims are not Arab, but you wouldn't tell that from the attacks on practices which almost always are tribal rather than religious. If you want to know whether a practice is Muslim or Tribal, check what happens in places like Indonesia.

If you want to have an opinion on such matters, it's probably a good idea that you do some research so that you can claim it's an informed opinion.

Looking at crazy backward people who happen to be "Muslims" and using them as an example of "Muslims" will get you nowhere because they are crazy people above all.

Just like the way you don't look at Catholic priests as your definition of Christians, or those dodgy Rabbis as the definition of Jews.

You couldn't blame Muslims if that ever came to be though. There is a vocal minority of Muslims who whinge and moan about everything they can think of, but if this law is passed it's the fault of the people who chose to pass it, and they would be wrong to pandering to crazy overly sensitive people.

Picking and choosing what to adhere to, like most religious people, but still maintaining that they are of that religion, probably out of habit/culture.

It's not as simple as we would assume, with some interpreting the Quran/Hadith to mean a prohibition on getting drunk rather than actually drinking, others interpreting it to mean a prohibition on alcohol distilled from grapes or dates only as that is what is mentioned in the scripture and others, the majority of Imams, interpreting it as a total prohibition.....historically there has always been a rather fluid interpretation of alcohol prohibition and no-one is really sure when it became a total prohibition but it wasn't always so....and many modern Muslims would take the stance that it is a matter between the Individual and Allah, not the business of other Muslims.

We shouldn't really conflate the issue of all rapists being Muslim, when it's plainly not the case. There are bad people in every walk of life.
