Windows 8 who's buying/upgrading

Dunno how you guys are managing to take four clicks to shut down or restart. It takes three...

I've been using ctrl + alt + del mostly then click the power icon in bottom right corner

ctrl + alt + del is sort of 3 clicks by itself. Then clicking the power icon and shutdown makes 5? I never use ctrl + alt + del to shutdown within Win7 and don't really wish to start now.

one keyboard shortcut to bring up one of the screens that has the power icon on, then one mouse click.

no longer than win key + I then mouse click power icon.

Dual boot is very easy, see run>msconfig. In fact I want to get rid of the OS menu, there is only 1 OS now. Is there a boot file I can edit the wait time from 3 to 0, the user keeps moving the mouse then wondering which OS to choose lol

For shutdown how about just setting your power button to do it, that is 1 click.. Dont fancy keyboards have this kind of key also

Who would haver thought something that should be simple like 'how to shut down' would cause so much debate. :)

You should see how long it took me to find it when I first installed the customer preview. The air in the room went all blue with my opinion on it at the time ;)

You can reboot or shut down a Windows 8 machine from the desktop in three clicks of the mouse.

Two if you put the shortcuts into the desktop right click context menu or the WinX menu.

However, I tried doing this yesterday using the hashlnk program / process and couldn't get them to show up in the WinX menu.

I'm talking about an out of the box install. I don't know what people are doing or how they are counting, but you can do it in three clicks.

I ended up having to do a clean install after my initial upgrade. I was having permissions issues with a lot of my programs, no matter what I did i couldn't get rid of the issues either. Wasn't overly bothered, there was a lot of crap on there that needed to go anyway, but still annoying that I had the issue.

From desktop it takes 4

1. Click 'Settings' after swiping down the right side.
2. Click 'Power'.
3. Click 'Shut Down'

Its the same from anywhere on the pc.

How often do you shut down anyway? Does 1 or 2 clicks really make that much different?
