Not really a 'help me' thread or anything, just venting.

After checking all the usual places, it is either being borrowed by a family member today or moved last night to somewhere I can't see by a family member... Or worse :(

The first 2 options are very unlikely, as they never touch my push bike.

So yea, really sad, very expensive push bike, gone, been stored in my car port for over 2 years now when I'm not using it.

And coincidentally, a week after 10 gypsy's turn up less than a mile away and my bike isn't the first thing to be stolen in the recent theft surge in our neighborhood...

So annoying!

Why do (did) you store an expensive bike in the car port? I would be gutted if mine went, so it spends its time inside

Normally it's chained into a locked garage at work, but when I stay at my families, it lived in the carport :( Lesson learned it seems.

It's gutting when anything gets stolen. An MTB of mine was stolen many years ago and I felt totally gutted as I had spent a lot of money upgrading components on it. I keep both my bikes indoors these days except when I get back from a rainy ride when it goes into the outhouse until it is dried off.

Feel for you.

My CBR got stolen a few years ago. From my locked flat.
Still think it was my landlord, as he took it before but I found it in his garden.

Never bothered replacing it.

What do you term by the phrase 'very expensive pushbike' ? What 'was' the make and model of it just out of interest?

We used to get our bikes stolen every few months. We got a motion sensing flood light and a massive German Shepard.

Needless to say, they haven't been back since. We also don't get kids coming on Halloween so I get to eat all of the sweets.

Have you reported it stolen to the Police and do you have a record of the serial number?

I think the paperwork is filed away, I need to look. Not reported it yet. Waiting for my mum to call me to confirm she hasn't moved it somewhere. Don't want to waste police time if she has simply stuffed it somewhere else. Which I highly doubt, but better to be sure before reporting and calling insurance.
