They will work fine.
The only region restrictions the vita has is on downloadable content/games purchased through the store. If you were to set up a PSN account for a different region, any purchases you made on the store would only be accessable through that specific account. You wouldn't be able to switch back to your normal account and still have access to the content you just purchased.
