I'm not sure whether that ram would have got on my mergers anyway as my tower will within my desk at eye level so seen as though my scheme has changed then I'm happy to switch it.

Didn't read whole thread, but in such huge budget I'd pick i7-3930K and 2011 platform which'd get older slower than 1155 IMO.
