Amazing Porsche video

Saw this couple of weeks ago, great video, and some stunning examples even if they aren't exactly conventional. Interesting rag to riches story too.

Dont normally sit here and watch 30 mins of video's about car's but he is such an interesting man.

He has had such interesting life and seems to have done very well for himself, wasn't expecting much due to his appearance but made me sit there and watch it all :)

Hopefully someone will be along soon to give you the same abuse I got when I reposted this in the video thread a week or two ago :p

Saw this sometime ago. I can understand his love of old Pork and I think it also perhaps exemplifies why Porsche are never going to move away from the basic 911 principals when they bring out new versions. They have one of the very few icons in motoring, something that has pretty much been the best all round sports car on the planet since it was released and has maintained that with every new model.

If you move away from the, to quote "lazy design" you have something truly special.

haha i posted it a bit before you did

if im completely honest i wasnt that wow'd by the guy. does he sell the cars? i got the feeling it was all marketing. he didnt seem to know much about the car either.

i hate the low f-stop photography that everyone seems to pass off as imaginative or arty too. wow, you set the aperture tiny and took a pic, well blow me down!

the cars have loud exhausts and he does some textile bits inside himself, well he did used to be in some sort of fashion business so i expect he knows how to twirl a needle and cotton... but apart from that, no interestign mechanical stuff to get your teeth into that ive seen

What's with all the hate? He seems to do everything from extensive body shape modifications to engine installs, give the amount of new looking engine parts (heads etc) i's hazzard a guess he builds them too.

I'm not sure what's not to like, he came to the USA with nothing and now has more than most of us will ever achieve, talk about living the dream.

Check his blog for full technical details of his rebuilds.

Did you watch the video? He says how he isn't that interested in selling the cars and frequently turns down requests.

I'd be a very happy man if i could do the things he does, regardless of whether or not he does all of it - he makes it happen.

His website has tons of part build images of engines being built or installed - not really the kind of stuff that anyone want's to see on this kind of video. It was supposed to be about art and passion, the technical explanations are for a different kind of video.
