Anyone tried Blablacar ?

Can you choose to share with Women only? And can you see a picture of them first?

Total nightmare for several reasons:

1) Using your car like a taxi to make a profit, if you crashed i'd imagine your insurance would be void.
2) Sounds like the ideal was to abduct someone.
3) You don't know if the person driving has a licence or the condition of the car.
4) Why would you want some random in your car.

I once heard that in Venezula or somewhere like that, they have checkpoints where police flag you down and organise hitchhikers that are going the same direction as you to take rides in your car. It is agaisnt the law to refuse, sounds fun.

That's the main one really, I'm sure Admiral are crawling the site now, ready to **** you over :p

How do I know it's ok to car share?
Section 1(4) of the 1981 Public Passenger Vehicles Act defines the rules that govern car sharing as follows: “the total of any charges should be agreed in advance and must not exceed the running costs (including wear and tear and depreciation) of the vehicle for the trip”.This is always the case on BlaBlaCar: our service is intended and has been designed for drivers to offset their running costs and not to make profit. BlaBlaCar automatically calculates a recommended price for every journey, ensuring that drivers do not receive reimbursement exceeding running costs, in complete compliance with legislation. The running costs used fully respect the Approved Mileage Payment Allowance, established by HM Revenue & Customs.
