.... recommended? I've got a Zalman Z9 Plus case (four hefty case fans /w built in controller) so I think I've got enough air circulating in there to do mid level overclocking.

My query is this: I've got a MSI Z77A-G45 mainboard (16GB DDR3 installed) and the motherboard has a fancy 'auto-overclock' option in the form of OC Genie II. I've not turned it on yet, as I wanted to hear if anyone has experienced issues with it.

On paper it looks awesome, but I'm erring on the side of caution with this new build, so if you lot can reassure me it'll be fine, I'll turn it on and PROFIT :)

Thanks in advance.

DO IT

Then stress your system with prime 95 for 30 minutes to see how hot your cpu is getting. You can get free software like core temp and prime 95 is free also.

I used it when I first built mine and worked a charm, should give you around 4.2 GHz. Just switch it on when the system is switched off.

Cheers chaps. I thought it was a no brainer, but previous OC experiences have left me a little burned, if you pardon the pun!

I'll give it a bash and report back.
