Crysis 3 Alpha

Put it this way, I never played Crysis for the multiplayer and this further reinforces my decision. It's like an afterthought, tacked on and just mindless shoot-em up drudgery.

Would love to see coop though, even if it's "tacked on" like Dead Rising 2 where the second player is simply just along for the ride but the story revolves around 1 person.

Did you ever play Crysis 1 multiplayer? I think it's awesome. As soon as they ported the series to consoles with crysis 2 it went all COD like and crap.

Awful. Maxed graphics I get about 40fps and doesn't even look that good, feels incredibly sluggish.. It is extremely boring and uninspired game play, tiny maps etc so basically console influenced again. Uninstalled already.

OK just had a session of the game. Here is my feedback:

IT SUCKS!!

- The whole process of joining the game is too long. My screen was constantly stuck at 'game starting in 1 sec'

- Graphics are seriously washed out and rubbish. Pure console graphics. I have Q9650@4GHz and 5850. Game was unplayable on highest settings. Had to resort to low graphics settings. These graphics are totally opposite of what was shown in that toad tech demo. Its too dark.

- Gameplay mechanics is very clunky and near impossible to shoot at targets accurately.

- Ceph pinger can be brought down very easily with just guns if I am right.

- Half of the time I didn't have a clue of what to do. Enemies were easily shooting at me from a far distance. I think the stealth aspect is making this multiplayer very uncompetitive. Enemies can easily sneak up behind you in stealth or very close to you and just shoot you dead without competitive shootout 1 vs 1 match.

Overall: Although we like to find faults with battlefield 3, BF3 multiplayer is 100x better than this game multiplayer. Crytech are best stick to single player campaign.

Guys, it was always going to be a console port, EA's games in the past few years have been just that, i don't know why you assumed it would be any different? It was never going to be a PC exclusive then ported to consoles.

Well the game is in alpha.....................then again it is an EA published game so it's as good as the retail version.:D

I'm not joking.

But this is the impression we got from Crysis 3 :(. I hope that toad tech demo wasn't placing a wool on our eyes

I just didn't keep my hopes up as consoles were taking a piece of the Crysis 3 cake as well, not to mention that BF:3 changed focus during development too.

This really does suck. Alpha or not, does anyone really think the final product will be much different?

Played a dull 10mins, got a few kills and lol'd at the lameness of enemy sniper powah before getting outski.
lol'd again at the 25fps on max and 50fps on high despite there not being anything great to look at.

Crysis should be about a great SP campaign and EA suck balls with their 'must have multiplayer as the main focus so we can rinse your wallet with mp dlc for as long as possible' .

/rant-lol

lol it's EA running the show, again it will be designed for consoles, expect the same linear gameplay and below par GFX on PC. We might even get lucky and have DX11 included in the game on release

Still, it will be poorly implemented and done to choke even the fastest GPU's for minimal IQ, suppose it will sell more Nvidia GPU's.

Crytech, what happened? Where did things go wrong? :(

Without me being naughty and saying things I shouldn't, I'll put it simply: the alpha wasn't released with the act of impressing you visually, it was put out to get some instant feedback on the gameplay mechanics and the backend of the game.

The quality of the final game graphics will, eventually, be up to a level you would expect - or not, the PC crowd is never satisified, let's be honest...

Just had a quick go and it runs like dog, about 25-30fps on very high, also it doesn't allow you to adjust individual graphics settings so I couldn't disable the horrible motion blur. Then again it is alpha.

MP was never what crysis was about and this one is no exception I feel. I didn't have a clue what the objective was, just defending random points on the map.

Pretty meh.
Don't think the fact it's in Alpha is the reason, Crysis 2 didn't change over the beta, or when it was leaked.

I'll buy it on a sale, only to play through the already ruined campaign.

I know its alhpa but its terrible, im gettin like 26fps aswell on max settings :S sluggish gameplay, feels crap.

Same here, exactly capped at around 25fps and the game runs choppy and is very sluggish. I have SLI GTX670's and the monitor is set at 120hz. Is this game not SLI compatible?

It's an Alpha, probably not? Why would you even expect it to be?

They didn't even have SLI working properly on release of the last game.
Is that going to stop people questioning it because it doesn't have this mythical tag of release version which doesn't matter at all? No.

Maybe when you've spent a decade or more with PC games you'll start noticing how things don't always change and you'll see similarities from previous games from the same people doing the same mistakes over and over.
This is Crysis however, why anyone expects it to work at all properly now and post release is another thing! :P (I actually had no problems, lots of others did).
