I need help choosing a new PSU for my CM HAF 912. It HAS to be modular and it HAS to be within the 600w - 750w bracket, and it HAS to be from a reliable brand like, CM, Corsair or Antec etc. The PSU I'm using at the moment is very good, but the main power cables are too short and the other modular cables are all linked together with three on one line, which as you can imagine, makes cable management very difficult. I'm using a Cooler Master Silent Pro 700watt Modular PSU at the moment.

What do you mean by 3 connectors on each line? Are these 3 sata power adapters? Because if so that is normal. Are the 6/8 pin PCIe connectors seperate?

I don't know how you'd solves the main power cable issue. Though they were all the same length.

No, I've been on YouTube and saw reviews on different PSU's and sometimes the person will say "The 24pin and 6 pin connectors on this are rather short though".

which cables are too short? as you can buy extenders

The 24 pin power connector and the 6 pin power connector. I also have an issue with the some of the other cables as well. The power cables for my CD drive and HDD are in rows of three. If you look up CM power cables on google you might find a picture as I don't think OC will allow me to upload.

just buy those extenders i posted a few posts up.

Doesn't anyone make cables with just one connector on it?

Unfortunately the few that have just one connector per cable tend to be cheap rubbish ones.

It would help if you can give a basic list of components your running.

CPU
Mobo (do you need 8 pin EPS or 4 pin ATX)
Graphics card (& tell use what power connections if any it has)
Number of Hard/Optical Drives/fans and if they use Molex (old 4 pin) or SATA power.

If you wanna route the mobo power cables round the back you'll probably need an extention cable, very few PSUs have cables that long as standard as they would get in the way on standard builds. I have extenders on both my 8 pin and 24 pin cables.

Do you know what length you need for the mobo connectors?

as a standard cable from a psu.. i doubt it. It's impractical.

What you can do is buy single molex->sata bitfenix extensions and go that route.

(I'm assuming your issue is the messiness of the cables at the drive end when there's multiple drives)

My system is as follows;

Intel Core i3 2100
Asus P8H61-M LE/USB3
Seagate 500GB HDD
AMD HD 6850 OC MSI

I didn't post these details as I'm upgrading my CPU and Motherboard soon.

I don't think a new PSU is gonna make a huge difference tbf.

It looks like linwelin's extensions idea will be your best bet, hiding any excess cabling behind your mobo, I guess from looking at pictures of the case it's got reasonable space there, it doesn't matter what that looks like. You should be able to route all the cables behind the mobo/side.

I assume at the moment you are having to use 2 cables for the HDD and CD/DVD drive as 1 isn't long enough. Using this extender should make it long enough to reach both using 1 cable, again hiding any excess cable round the side of the case out of sight. Giving you 1 less cable out of the PSU.

EPS = 8 (4+4) pin, ATX = 4 pin.
The EPS is backwards compatable with ATX you just use half of it, which is what your are doing.

Any extension you get either needs to be an ATX 4 pin or EPS 8 pin that is splitable, I don't think the bitFenix does.
This one does, Akasa 8-Pin 30cm PSU Extension Cable.

NZXT 24-Pin ATX Black Sleeved 25cm Extension Cable

I'd be surprised if your need this, but in case for the graphics card.
NZXT 6 Pin PCI-E Black Sleeved 25cm Extension Cable

Hope that makes some sence.

The Bitfenix one isn't splitable but is great quality. The Akasa one on the other hand is awful quality wise, don't expect the braid to hold up to much. I ended up cutting it off in the end.

If it was me I'd get a 4-Pin BitFenix or NZXT one.
