Hi there

**THIS IS PROVISIONAL - NO ONE BOOK TIME OFF YET!**

Right guys, I provisionally have this organised with Bookatrack who in my experience are the best organisers of track days out there, you pay a bit more but in return you get a better run and organised day with far more track time.

The details are:-
Price: £295 (OcUK Member price £249)
Date: May 15th 2013
Format: Open Pitlane
Layout: National circuit
Noise: Usual un-silenced 98db
Car max limit: 50 cars

Yes it is more, due to time of year and the fact Bookatrack operate on a policy of a maximum of 50 cars, this prevents any pit lane queuing and generally fewer flags.

I've done several bookatrack events, along with Focus, Javalin etc. and to put it in simple terms Bookatrack are far superior, better run, far more disciplined and a lot quieter, hence no queuing and generally no more than 2-3 red flags in a day. So in my view its well worth the extra money as you get far more track time and can come back to the pits and go straight back out without having to worry over queuing.

Be great to see you all there and more, this is provisional at this time but if most are up for it then it shall go up on Bookatrack and you can start booking and paying.

If you want to attend please reply to this thread stating your attending and driving. Remember with bookatrack you can also book one of their cars which cost in the region of £500-£600 for car but there can be upto two drivers, so you can split the cost. That prices includes fuel for the day etc. anyone intersted in this let me know and I shall get firmed up pricing and if possible damage waiver fee removed.

I've also made this a poll too. :)

We need 50 confirmed cars guys, we can do it, feel free to invite members from other forums to come and join the OcUK forum to sign up at which point I shall happily give them the discount code to get the discounted price. :)

So vote and reply to thread please!

Think of it like this, put £60 a month aside from now and you've covered the trackday cost and fuel for the day along with money for lunch. :)

Hi mate, I'm definitely up for this, is it a guaranteed to go ahead jobbie or do we have to hit 50? If so I'll book the day off work now.

Don't book anything yet, Bookatrack need to firm up the date with the circuit. :)

If they do then the event is open upto OcUK members only or those with the discount code, then if 1 month before the date we've not filled the numbers, the event opens upto to all at full price.

The aim would be to get 30ish OcUK members on this, then the rest could be filled by 20 randoms. Of course if we manage all 50 then awesome! :)

I'd love to come, but can't commit yet. So won't vote.

Will the discounted price still apply up to 1 month before?

once its within 30 days of the event, the discount shall end. People need to commit 1 month or greater before the event.

Probably not as I might be on holiday around then, plus I have no intention to do anymore to my car.

Well I'm definitely interested. It does seem expensive, primarily from the viewpoint that it's a Wednesday more than anything, but I'm dead keen to try out Donington and it'd be great to spend a track day with some familiar faces for once (I've gone and cocked that up this month by booking a track day the same day as the RR ).

If this happens, and as long as I can get the day off work, I'd be interested in coming to spectate.

£250 is a lot of a weekday at Donington, days can be done for much cheaper.

Is paying an extra £100 or so for exclusivity on track really worth it? and just because it's an OcUK only day doesnt necessarily mean fewer flags, all depends on drivers ability ;)

I'll be a maybe on this depending on finances at the time.

I wil however be doing Donington on the 30th December through Javelin :)

It was something that cropped up in discussion at the last (non exclusive) trackday that some of us were at. It's not that much more expensive than a typical bookatrack day, and granted you can do a weekday far cheaper, you end up having too many cars and an organizer that isn't exactly the best.

I don't think the price is that bad at all, but I also expected the majority to complain about the price.

There is too much Javelin hating going on tbh. I've attended a few of their events and can't really criticise. I feel the only improvement offered by BaT was the photography and the tea and biscuits. I did enjoy the evening session though and will certainly do more next summer.

It's not "hating" on them, I had an enjoyable day without a doubt, however I'd certainly put the niceties of BaT above just "tea and biscuits".

The number of cars at the Javelin event was too many, and the organization of the pit queuing was terrible. Heck, they couldnt even organize a briefing that was audible beyond about 6 feet.

I'd be happy to pay the difference, but I can understand why others are less willing to do so.
