Las Vegas trip

So I'll be heading out to Las Vegas again in January for CES.

Last time we flew with Virgin in Economy and stayed in the PH Westgate towers and it was great. We had a suite and a jacuzzi and everything was amazing.

This year, the building now belongs to Hilton and instead of it costing £1300 again, it's over £3000 so have to look at other options.

I need to be close to the Venetian and want a fairly nice place that can sleep 3 people (not sharing beds but sofa/prop up bed is fine)

Is it best to buy flights and then book hotel or to get a package deal of flights and hotels?

Hoping a Vegas Veteran would have some ideas.

Budget for flights and Hotel is around £2500 and dates would have to be 7th Jan to 14th or thereabouts. Don't mind going a day early, but 7th is the latest we can go as CES starts 8th and finishes 11th.

Anyone got any ideas :)

Many thanks,

Andy

I go on travelsupermarket.com for Vegas deals then look at other hotel websites, hotels.com etc. Finally, look direct at the hotel sites.

If you need to be by the Venetian then you have:

Pallazzo, Encore and Wynn at the higher end. Mirage and TI mid end some horrid low end ones too...

It's not too long a walk from say Bellagio (centre strip) to venetian so consider that area too. You could also consider one of the apartment style hotels like Platinum if you don't mind the walk.

Flights, just get on skyscanner.net and again, try airlines direct. Finally, go to travel agents. Thomas cook high street. got me a better price with BA than online..

Enjoy!

Funnily enough, I'm going to be in Las Vegas this January for Shot2013, most hotels in Vegas have discounted rates for the duration. Me and a friend are going, we're only paying $352 for a six day stay at the Imperial Palace.

Flamingo is old. So far I've been looking at Travelodge as one part of me keeps saying "It's just somewhere to put your head" and is only £2000 with flights.

The other part of me is looking at Planet Hollywood, Treasure Island, ****, Mirage or even the Venetian itself but it's another £1000.

Hate making decisions like this :(

Don't forget Quidco too. Most airlines are on there although only 1-2%, but it all adds up.

Booking.com has always been the cheapest regular place for hotels give or take £1 or two, and the reviews are normally plentiful, useful and honest.

Edit: BA and Virgin are both showing as £644pp on Skyscanner so a saving of £59pp which doesn't sound like a whole lot depending on how many miles you're having to use.

That's a good price for the flights. Other flight option to consider is to LA then get a jet blue internal flight to LV

Yeah that's what i though. Looked at connecting, but not much in it for the extra hassle of connecting.

Yeah, now I just have the dilemma. Do i go with a suite like before at £1000 - £1500 or do I just go for a Travelodge for £380 and think it's only a place to lay your head. Help lol
