3 bed semi re-wire cost

Just had an estimate come back for full re-wire, CAT5 in some rooms, 3-4 new sockets per room, moving a few lights and new consumer unit/rcd.

Price was 3.5k....is that average for a normal sized 3 bed semi?

Getting some more firms in just to see...
 
Whole place being reskimmer after?
-elecrtic shower?
-cooker?
all being completely redone?

Whats the estimate on the time involved?
He doing his own tracking, or will you have to retrack everything first?
 
I'm a Sparky mate and this seems a reasonable price. I know it sounds obvious but make sure the firm is legit.

You'll be wanting an Electrical Installation Certificate as well :)
 
It makes a mess of ur walls.. You will need to repaint / repaper some parts of walls.

Some Sparkys dont care about the mess they make, they just want to shove the wires in quick and grab ur pennies
