i play balanced and see how the first 15-20 mins go, if the other player is good i will go defensive (never use ultra defensive it pushes your backline farther back, whereas defensive stops yours RWB and LWB from going too much forward). if the other player is okay/poor i leave it on balanced. if i go behind, i usually go ultra attacking.

i never touch any other options.

i know a lot of people hate 5 at the back, but think to yourself why do they hate it? it's because it is so hard to score against, therefore imo it is the best to use.

5221 has basically 3 strikers, 2 box to box mids and 3CB's and 2 defensive LM's and RM's, it's a lot like 3 at the back but much much better because the wings are not exposed.

i tried 3 at the back but it was just awful.

you can always make a cheaper version of the team:

Gervinho -- Sturridge

Tiote -- Fellaini

Richardson --- M'Bia -- Vertonghen/Vermaeleen -- Kaboul -- Johnson

------------- Friedel -----


so long as you keep M'Bia and Kaboul as the wide CB's, Fellaini in CM and the 3 forwards, you can get away with cheaper options in other places until you can afford the squad i have now. that's how i built up my squad, i used Vertonghen as middle CB, then i bought Verm, then Kompany. I upgrade my teams slowly, bit by bit.
 
It's so boring and easy though, it is absolutely no challenge against 95% of people, you just play rubbish, counter-attacking 'Fifa football'. People hate it because the player has chosen to make the team purely for the best result rather than to play good, or even remotely realistic, football.

I couldn't win or play football with 5 at the back:p
 
Well played mate, talk about two formations cancelling each other out.

I couldn't do much after the first half, players just couldn't pass, control, run...pretty much FIFA 13 for me.

1 shot for you after 90 mins and 3 shots after 120 and 3 goals, well played sir :p
 
Cheers mate, good game! Saw you had a pretty quick team had just decided to slow it down and hit on the counter when I could - my midfield play is pretty poor but that's because all I've really played is clubs as an attacker... it's helped with my finishing though!

I think you're the first OCUKer I've played on 13 and the games been out for over a month :s
 
Yeah, I've only played Stewy a couple of times, Diva once, Bunko and Robi. Not even had 10 games against OCUK people. Probably had about 100 by now in 12 :(

Is Tevez as CF any good (is he better than Podolski)?

I know he's only a 79 rating and non-rare but I find the quickest of my BPL CB's is David Luiz!

On a side note, I finally pulled a decent player in a pack last night when I got Puyol - had a look at his stats and sold him straight away!?!?! :confused:

Can someone explain to me how Puyol is an 86 when 5 out of the 6 stats aren't even as high as an 81 rated Lescott?? I mean I know "defending" is pretty pivotal to a defender but even that isn't that much higher!?!? :confused:

It comes down to more than on card stats, go on futhead or futwiz, check out the ingame stats and you'll see a host of differences.

Also, Puyol's hair is worth +4 if not more!!
