Anyone had any experience of these? Looking at new tyres for my S40 T5 crappy wheel size though :( 215/45/18

Why oh why didn't they go for a normal width 225 etc...

I edited my post as on second thoughts 7 inch width is more likely.

You may be able to fit 225's is what I am getting at.

EDIT - Need somebody more knowledgeable to confirm this?

Just looking and indications it's more a track tyre? So are any of the Yokohama tyres any good etc?

I'll have a check and a chat with micheldever

It is and it needs heat to work well. Yoko's are good in my experience but buy a tyre best suited to your needs.

Also, if wheels are 7j you will be able to upsize to 225 fine.

Running them on my Focus RS and really rate them.

Huge amount of grip in the dry once warmed up (semi slick levels of grip) and very progressive. You just have to watch out for standing water on them due to the lack of tread.

Not a comfy tyre by any means due to the steel inserts in the sidewalls and they are quite noisy but if your looking at this tyre then that shouldnt be an issue.

I do quite a few track days each year aswell and are great on track...easily keeping up with people running full semi slick tyres :D

Where would you expect to find the alloy size etc?

Question is also maintaining profile etc.

Great tyres, perfect for a car which gets driven hard and does occasional trackdays.

For road use...
Great on a hot dry road with a bit of heat in, not good in the wet, very poor in the winter. Seriously, I would not recommend you buy them at this time of year, I'm driving like miss daisy atm because frankly I'm terrified of them.
Noise, they are loud, simple. Ride, very unforgiving, even worse than runflats maybe. When I went to these, I had to retune the damping to suit.
If you don't do trackdays, or fast driving, then you would be better off with CSC5 or something.

Track..
Superb, couple of laps warmup and they are on, massive grip and they do not go off. My experience is they feel just the same after 15 laps as they do after 5. Grip level is tangibly less than that of A048 or R888 though, so if you do primarily trackdays then you'd be better off with a tyre like that.

Regarding sizing, don't forget that like all 'S' tyres, these come in cheat sizes i.e. they come up wider than the stated sizes. A 225 section AD08 will not sit happily on a 7J.

Think Bridgestone on pzero. Shame that's per tyre, but much cheaper than last year!

I thought pirelli tyres were widely accepted to be a load of **** ?

Great touring tyres , but I prefer more sportier tyres :)

Ah, must have a sporty car then

That'll be a no then.

That does highlight the problem of joe public reviewing things like tyres - one man thinks the T1-R is the last word in performance whilst the next tells you how terrible it is.

I have AD08's on mine. Excellent feedback and dry weather grip. Razor sharp turn in. Wet weather as mentioned is far more interesting. Far from dangerous but you just need to drive with a bit more care.
