BrewDog Tokyo*

Think I'll have to pay a visit to their camden pub when I get back on Christmas leave. Late Birthday celebrations.

They are not binging type drinks either, it's the equivalent of getting a nice spirit or liquor in a bar and enjoying it for its flavour. I can't see how anyone can see otherwise.

I tried Tactical Nuclear Penguin and Sink The Bismarck! with some friends at Brewdog in Camden earlier in the year. While they may get the headlines for the high alcohol content, as they say themselves, they aren't supposed to be drunk like a normal bottle of beer.

When we had Tactical Nuclear Penguin, it came as a small measure and you drank it like a spirit. Further to that, it actually tastes a lot like a whiskey, so its hardly the kind of thing you want to be drinking a whole bottle of like a normal beer. Their regular brews were all very good, but its obviously these beers that have got them in the news which has helped grow the business.

I've tried most of their strong range, bar End of the World. Whilst they do have a beery'ness about them, especially Tokyo* they clearly aren't designed to be drank as such - the writing on labels & resealable tops are testament to this.
I can totally understand why people don't like them, as many people don't like drinking neat spirits for taste but I have had enjoyment from drinking their strong range.

I also think that any company that is trying to innovate and do something new with an existing product is a good thing.

I also drink in their bar in Glasgow, and it's quite funny seeing people come in that aren't familiar with their set up (they only sell their own beer on tap, and occasionally some guest taps) and ask for a Tennent's or the like. However, then watching the staff chat to them about what they have and letting them try stuff and seeing the customer try a totally new drink and enjoying it is pretty amazing.

Am I right thinking you worked for BrewDog?
