I remember ages ago my computer at the time was bluescreening constantly, I didn't know EFF all about computers back then so I took it to the purple shirt noobs to find the fault, I went back a couple of days after giving them my computer and they turned around and said 'We couldn't find the problem' AND THEN charged me 20 quid for the privelidge, I stood there with a face like ":O" and went bat**** crazy at them. Since then I have never returned, the incompetence is outstanding and their product choice sucks donkey balls.

If you just want something basic for your pc like a webcam or router, purple shirts is fine for that.

They're just not competitive for the high end equipment like gaming peripherals and graphics cards.

Their monitors aren't badly priced either. Its just the more "specialist" stuff like pc upgrades that is overpriced.

If you aren't a moron you'd buy that type of thing from places like OCUK.

I asked about this when I bought an item, they said if comet are still here (unlikely) they will honour the 12m warranty, but said the manufacturer will be dealing with warranties.

Oh dear. apparently the was a bit of an incident at our local Comet store while my sister was there earlier, it looks like the contractors who do their home installations found out their not getting paid for any of the work the have done for the past few weeks so a bunch of them walked in, got in a profanity shouting match with the manager (who wasn't best pleased with the prospect of becoming unemployed with no notice anyway) and then they picked up a couple of large plasmas* and walked out with them lol, the staff didn't bother trying to stop them either
