Glasses driving me mad

I felt like that when I first got my glasses. I don't have any issues when wearing my contacts though. I think if you had bigger frames/lenses then you wouldn't have as much of a problem. I just got used to it in the end, still don't like driving in my glasses though.
I don't think I could ever put contacts in
As for the bigger glasses I did try some bigger frames and looked like Dierdre Barlow from corrie :D

I think what you said is correct. I can't believe that you have to go through this every time you change glasses :( someone said even just a frame change can do it ?.

A frame change won't cause visual distortion, but if it's significantly different to the old frame then you may be overly aware of it for a while.

You're likely to have more trouble because of the nature of your eyesight problems. I have the more common problems - focal length and astigmatism - and I adapt to new glasses in a couple of hours at most. You've got some sort of mismatch between the data from each eye, which is what the prism corrects. Your brain will be very used to trying to correct for that and will take more time to adjust to the alteration caused by the prism. It will do so, though, as long as the glasses are correct for your eyesight.

EDIT: Bah, I missed the possibility of having to change the lens to fit a new frame. I've had glasses of about the same size and shape for 40 years, so it's never been an issue for me.

This is true. Bigger frames will extend the lens across your peripheral vision. The larger the gap between the edge of the lens and the edge of your peripheral vision, the more obvious the distortion will be.

When I was in the same situation I kept waiting and waiting for the screen to look right again but I'm sure it's never been the same since. It's been 4 or 5 months now. I'd hate to be the bearer of (possibly) bad news though and the weight of opinion seems to suggest you'll be fine pretty soon!

I guess only time will tell....so does your screen still look odd shape after 5 months and did you go back to the opticians?
