Apologies folks, looks like my copy-paste missed out one of the pages. I've added the link in bold to my post above so be sure to go and check.

And looking at those screenshots again, for the first time in a long, long time I'm getting the same feeling in my gut as I did when I saw the screenshots and map for San Andreas on the PS2. This game cannot possibly come soon enough!

Feel exactly the same. Haven't felt like this about a game in ages. Seriously cannot wait.
 
Bigger world than Red Dead, SA and GTA 4 combined.

...how is this going to run on a console? 4 was pretty suspect and this seems bigger in every way, they must have made some pretty impressive performance improvements to the engine.

I'd imagine they have spent a considerable amount of time optimising the engine since GTA 4 (it's evident from the stuff they have shown).
 
OMG! think this is the first GTA that i'm genuinly really excited about! hope they put out a big limited edition like they did for IV - I'M SOLD!

My interpretation was that that aspect will be an evolution from GTA4, rather than a backwards step to the handling of previous GTAs. Which is good, because aside from the wallowing as you took corners, the handling in GTA4 was fine.

There'll have to be compromises somewhere obviously, but hopefully they've managed to use the time since GTA4 and RDR to optimise the engine and really get every last ounce of performance from the hardware.

I really hope they don't make the driving too arcadey just because some people moaned about it. The driving in GTA IV was awesome, I hope they just tweak and improve rather than take a step backwards.
 
I loved the way the cars all felt different in IV. Love just crusing in bonnet view and driving round the city. If they make the handling even more simmy then it'll just be better.

re; Driving, I read it as they were making the driving even more realistic. Which is a good thing, they're improving on the already very good driving in GTA IV :)
