Cat attacks villagers.....isn't put down

Your Dog wouldn't get put down if it merely snapped at someone you Daily Mail reading idiot.

Edit: A Cat cannot kill or seriously maim a human being, a lot of Dogs can, and have, killed Children. I love Animals and have owned Cats and Dogs including 2 German Shepherds, use some common sense.

I would wager money on a cat being able to seriously harm a child. Doesn't take much to blind someone.

When someone's kid dies from gangrene there will be a major lawsuit or someone or something will kill the cat when it attacks them, just another irresponsible owner.

A question for KaHn the OP:

So if a bite is a bite, then what should happen to a toddler who bites people, you want to put them down too? They have about the same mental capacity as a cat or a dog in that they don't understand its wrong.

cats often swipe at the eyes. they can easily blind you. if you see a cat doing for a dog they often go for the eyes. so, yes, they can maim you. i wouldnt want to be blind...

of course i would kick the hairball first anyway if i thought it was going to go after me. same with a dog though.

Well you know, a spoon could maim a human too.

Realistically though, you're fairly unlikely to be blinded by a cat. I used to pull my cats tail when I was a kid and the worst I got was a few claw marks on the arm. Plus your automatic reflex to something going for your eyes would be to close them.

I've never seen so many straw men in one thread before.

I'm 38 and I've never heard of this happening, it's not that easy to blind someone. I do however personally know quite a few people who have been hospitalised by dogs though including my brother who was bitten on the face by next door's 'friendly', 'oh he's never done anything like that before' dog. Luckily he didn't suffer any permanent damage apart from a small scar.

Then how come if my dog chews something and makes a mess, it runs and hides? That hardly implies it doesn't know what its done is wrong?

It's not a straw man because he did say "A bite is a bite", his comment or stance isn't being misrepresented. It might be inconvenient for him to have people make comments like that, but that's what he said.

Do you think I write like that usually, i'm being sarcastic and putting on a pretend voice in my spelling.. I don't really treat my forum fodder with the same level of English as i would say, in an proper written document. After all, its just you lot reading it !

Cat bites can be problematic. My dad almost lost his hand thanks to infection from our neighbours' cat after he tried to carry it out of our house after finding it in the kitchen for the umpteenth time. He still has pain in his hand and problems with moving a couple of his fingers.

That all being said, my parents have 3 of their own cats :p

Those spaces before those exclamation marks say otherwise.
