Cant get 3840x1080 across 2 monitors anymore :(

As the title says and right now im pulling my freakin hair out!

All i did was test my HD 3000 Graphics on my i7 but now after plugging my monitors back into the card i just cant get 3840x1080.. Extend displays works ok but when i 'duplicate' for 3840x1080 it just duplicates.. thats all i get. Right click desktop for screen resolution gives a max of 1920x1080.

I frickin hate CCC and its Eyefinity crappy set up.. why cant it just remember my resolution after pulling out the monitor cables.

Both monitors are HDMI/VGA so i have 2 HDMI cables going to my 7950 with the second monitor using an HDMI > DVI adaptor.

Sorry i sound ****ed off but man im ****ed off after 3 hours of trying to figure this crap out.

Yes i did reinstall drivers and both 12.11 beta4/12.11 beta6.

Am i missing something here? What is the best config for 2 monitors with my 7950?

Duplicate puts the same image on both screens so the maximum resolution will be 1920x1080.

Extend displays joins the 2 displays together but each screen is still treaed as a separate 1920x1080 display.

To have both screens treated as a single 3840x1080 screen you need to be using Eyefinity so set up Eyefinity again or re-enable Eyefinity.

I guess my system is backwards then cuz Extend gives me both 1080p on each but taskbar only on my main monitor which is the left. Duplicate usually gives me same exact thing on both monitors and i was then able to right click desktop > screen resolution > choose 3840x1080 in the dropdown. Something has gone wrong here and i just cant be bothered tonight after hours of messing about with it.

There's nothing wrong with CCC...

Sounds like a good ol' case of PEBKAC.

The reason you can't find 3840x1080 is because it's an eyefinity resolution whilst eyefinity is disabled.

You need to go in to CCC > Eyefinity Multi-Display and set up a new display group.

I tried this but it just wont give. Says Completed etc.

No option at all to get higher than 1920x1080 in desktop option.

Im not happy at all right now as i've done this a thousand times

Fixed..

First i tried the card in my second PCIe slot and it worked right away @ 3840x1080 across both screens. So i then put the card back into the first PCIe slot but still had the problem.

The fix was simple but it didnt occur to me at first to do this.. i uninstalled the 12.11 Beta 6 drivers and then went into device manager and uninstalled the VGA device. Did a reboot and installed the AMD drivers again and it all fell into place

I guess the Intel HD 3000 messed up some stuff so i wont be using that again unless i have to.
