Overclockers.co.uk Grand opening 10/11/12 outside

I'm fuming, no where anywhere did anyone mention they would be giving out raffle tickets for queuing and they said they opened for 9 and it was in fact 6am....I rolled up for 8:20 and found I was 2.5 hours late...... Yeah thanks a lot........had u said 6am on the website I'd of got there then

6am opening? Wouldn't they mention that? Even if they haven't mentioned it, how did people know to turn up at 6am?

Should have camped overnight like the Apple crew. :p Or dare I say camped for 1 week before they even opened.

Exactly why I'm annoyed, they didn't mention it.

Seems some people chanced it, got there then and became 1st in que so to speak, I assumed the doors were locked til 9 and an orderly Q may of formed but not staff opening doors and people going in, gettin the tickets etc

If people got there before you they would have been ahead of you in the queue for the best deals regardless of what time the doors were opened.

The raffle tickets were handed out so that those who got there first had first pick of the deals.

With bargains like that you honestly expected to turn up 40 minutes before opening and not find a lot of people had got there before you?

Wether they handed out raffle tickets or not, the first person in the queue was still the first person to go in.

What difference does it make.

I wanted the 27" monitor. I turned up at 8:58, saw that LOADS of people had beaten me to it. So I just went home without a monitor because others had bothered to get there before me.

Had they said 6am on the website people would have been there at 3. Exactly what point are you trying to prove here other than you didn't think to get there early enough?

think some people missing the point here, this was advertised in the local paper as a 9am opening, now it is right that the early bird catches the worm, but no ware was it said that turning up at 6am would give you early access and first dibs. whats annoyed most that turned up at a reasonable time is seeing people inside the store and even carrying around items outside that they weren't allowed access to till the 9am opening.

There would have been queue regardless?

Or were you expecting a free for all, whereby everyone rushed the store as soon as the door opened and whoever got to the deals first was the winner?

What does it matter if the people there before you got given a ticket and allowed to choose before you, or all stood in a long line that you were at the back of and got to choose before you? The outcome is exactly the same either way.

Would you have been as annoyed had you turned up at a reasonable time to see a cluster of people in front of the door? they were still in front of you in the queue therefore the items would still have been allocated before you got to the door. It was clearly stated limited stocks and first come first served, of course turning up earlier would put you at a better chance of being at the front of the queue or "first dibs" as you put it.... thats how Queue's work

Wether they were inside or not doesn't really matter, Im guessing the shop guys decided just not to have everyone standing outside in this horrid weather. OcUK did well to ensure everyone in the queue retained their place by handing out tickets.

I really do not see the problems people are complaining about here

From what I can gather no one was allowed to buy anything before 9am.

Those who got there early were given tickets for the items they wanted, a simple method of ensuring that it was first come first served.

As the offers were first come first served I don't see how anyone could think they could stroll up just before 9am and have their pick of the offers ahead of those who got there hours earlier.
