Anyone heard of Crystal Castles before?

This thread title to me must be like "Has anyone heard of The Beatles before?" to others :p

Yes they're awesome, thanks for reminding me about their new album out soon.

Brand new to me mate!

It's not the typical genre of music I listen too, so its all new to me.

Good thing is recently I have been feeling like I wanted to listen to something with a bit more bass in it. This fits the bill nicely!

Some of it is a little harsh to listen to, especially the heavily 8-bit themed stuff, but in general I like the chaotic but minimalistic style. Very addictive.

Look forward to getting my hands on the new album.

Crystal Castles II is an amazing album.

III (the new one) is a bit of a different beast, not as heavy. I like it though :)

Listen to 'Not In Love' which features Robert Smith from The Cure. It's great!

Welcome to 2008!

And yes, one of the most important bands to me of recent years.

Pale Flesh from the new album is probably my favourite. Viscerally unsettling.

And here are a couple of great older tracks for you.

An incredible number from the second release:

And one of the best from the debut which completely knocked me aback when it was released. I lived off this album for weeks.

Nice to see another metal fan into CC.

They're ok. I like some of their tracks but there are too many that are just weird and irritating (mostly the ones with the crap whining screechyness over the top)

Agree Pale Flesh is an amazing track! (Listening to it right now)

I've just heard them for the first time today and I really like Alice Practise, some of the other stuff is good but doesn't jump out.

I'll listen all to all of the albums tomorrow hopefully

Seen them live at Rockness a few years back. Their set got cut short for some reason so the lassy tanked a bottle of whiskey and threw up all over the stage.

Good times. :D

Isn't this every live show for them?

Seen them twice, once she had broken her leg and was on crutches, she was still everywhere.

Liked them since the first album was released and heard the new album yesterday. See why some might not like them, but they have a real chaotic electronic chiptune music sound that I really enjoy.

New album seems like a return closer to the sound of the first.

Yes, a vastly underated duo and in terms of electronic music fantastic. The first album is pretty amazing.
