from what edgedemon just said.... I looked at cyberport and they have it. great. but here is a question:

1) you dont get the wireless charger with it, right?
2) will it work in the UK?
3) will that be sim free/unlocked? (i.e I can pop any sim in)

Im trying this now but not getting very far.
Im trying to flash to the generic GB variant, but the phone doesn't like it and it errors out with no helpful error message at all....
Will keep on trying and I will report back

I also have a cyberport order just in case :D

Darm thought it would be easy to do. How you trying to do it? Are you using Nokia Care Suite 5 - 2012.44.5.5?

i have just came back from phones4u. i have played around with the black model in there.i can say that the device is very fast.they had a note 2 next to it.i went to the exact same website (bbcsport) at the exact same time. the lumia 920 loaded the webpage faster. :D.

and the handset does look lovely in white..
im glad i ordered it..:D

1) I don't know I thought I might try this link when mine arrives from cyberport.
2)yes someone in the uk has one from ze gemans
3)yes

ade74: Thanks.
the risk with the wireless charger is, what if only certain phones bought in certain countries are eligible for the charger? i.e if I buy it from ze germans... and they arent eligible then im stuffed!

Its all incredibly frustrating.

Waiting over a week for my EE order to arrive and not be able to sign up in store despite already having a confirmed order... and even if I go buy the phone from P4U it won't work on anything other than EE networks which I'm not with so its just pointless buying it.

Don't know; I think it's related to them using the T-mobile/Orange who block Voip on their basic packages.

Virgin Media isn't very helpful on the matter either. Their official line is that they don't support Skype.

their official line is it works ie they don't block anything and it seems for many it does. Desire HD seems to be the most problematic phone.

You need two numbers to get a charger. Your IMEI number and the number printed on the promotional sticker on the box.

No sticker, no charger.

Hopefully that's not the case, my P4U box didn't have a sticker but on their site it states:

Customer Queries
If a customer has lost their box sticker containing the unique code, they can still claim their wireless charger using just their IMEI number (which can be found by entering *#06#) They can fill in the online claim form leaving the Unique code field blank

Yep

Downloaded the generic firmware and tried to flash the phone.
First time seemed to go OK, but when it sends an instruction to reboot the phone and apply the firmware, the phone didn't reboot and I got an error
Now when I try again either it errors straight away or it goes online to download something (no idea why as everything has been downloaded and stored locally) and then errors

still playing around..
