Ideal card for DGM IPS-2701WPH?

I am just about to pull the trigger on the DGM IPS-2701WPH and would appreciate some advice on what graphics card to buy to utilise it.

Originally I had planned on a 7950 but am now tempted by a 7970. I was looking at the Gigabyte WF but I understand this is now voltage locked and therefore unclockable?

Looking at warranties I would like either a Gigabyte or MSI card and this is the motherboard I am currently planning on getting (could be convinced to put more into a motherboard if worth it):

Edit - potentially go for the UP4 instead?

To get the best out of 1440p without breaking the bank, I'd go have a look at getting a pair of those MSI 7950's that are on offer this weekend only, come with a shed load of games too...

With a 7950 I was thinking of getting one now and one after Christmas. Would like to get 2 now but I am forking out around £1,400 for the rest of the pc (and monitor) so can't really justify £500 on graphics cards right now!

A 7950 with an overclock will fair up well on 1440p too, it will certainly last you until you have the funds for a second :)

Above 1080p (although I would imagine 1440p isn't too bad) the 600 series from nVidia drop off quite sharply in performance.

I would say a 384 bit bus AMD card (7950/7970) should be your choice here.
