Just popped into p4u and sorted out my upgrade ready as they didn't have a red in yet of course but I managed to get a £31 per month contract that includes 400 mins, 750 data, unlimited texts, bt WiFi and no cost for the handset! Which is better than my best offer from orange who wanted £40 for the handset and p4u via the phone wanted £200 more.

Now just got to wait for the phone call saying they have them in.

Clove have emailed me to let me know that the white 920 will be arriving tomorrow if anyone wants to try their luck
No idea how unlocked they really are

Clove UK are receiving white sim free tomorrow just confirmed by email priced at £520.

Edit: Beat me to it.

Oh and I ordered from P4u online. There was no sticker to redeem the charger and no included speakers. Spoke to P4U and they have confirmed that I can use the nokia redemption site from the 16th for the charger, and they will apparently send me the speakers after 28 days - did anyone else actually have them arrive with the phone?

Nightmare99 said he received his speakers with the phone.

I was hoping for delivery today with the speakers but after you saying you didn't get yours, I'll guess I have to wait and see.

Edit: Which courier do P4U use for delivery?

Well, my SIM is live now (just waiting for the insurance people to start hounding me with calls). Where I am the speed test (on 3g) gives me around 1.6MB a second on EE and about 3.5MB a second on my Giffgaff/O2 SIM (using my Lumia 800 to test).

I'll try a few other locations first, but I'm tempted to pay off the contract and stick with Giffgaff, can't be doing with such slow 3G speeds and a lack of unlimited data.

Your only problem then is getting it unlocked :p

Ordered the White version from Clove UK and Ordered a Red Sim Free (I know it isn't) from Phones 4u. Managed to get it in my basket before they removed the buy button.

Decided as I was torn between Virgin and Giff Gaff I would just move to Virgin! Easier that way.

Hmmmmm. Yellow or White.......

That's not good news. I am hoping that orange come back to me quickly with an unlock code as I will flash generic firmware and apply the unlock. Does Andy have any bright ideas?

Nope. We need to get the unlocking code for the phone that mean, as its a hardware limitation.

Just as an FYI, I have spoken to the chaps at www.unlockfrog.com, I have used them in the past to unlock a Samsung omnia 7 and they were very good. They are 100% they can unlock the 920 and it will take between 3-7 days for an unlock code.

If I did get an unlock code from EE I wonder if this would help with generating further unlock codes?

It's public/private key encryption as far as I know and to determine if you have found the correct key you need to know the input (IMEI and operator ID) and the output (unlock code) to know when you've reached the correct goal.

When you're trying to decrypt a written message you know the end result as you can use a dictionary scanner on the encryption result, can't really do that with an unlock code.
