Engine chirping until clutch pressed?

As above really chaps.

In gear or out, whenever I touch the clutch (even slightly) the noise goes until pedal is released and then the noise continues.

Is it Clutch bearing?

I'd imagine the cost could be between 20k and £250 depending which car you own.

I'd imagine around the £400 to £500 mark, it's worth changing the clutch whilst the gearbox is out, that's also included in my estimate

+1 for bearing, do the lot as Firestar says. Bit odd for such a new car to suffer from this really.

As said clutch release bearing and it's worth spending the extra to have the clutch while its being done as a friend found out after needing a clutch 2 months after having his gearbox rebuilt.

Ok thanks guys, the thing is I had a clutch replacement under warranty like 18 months ago, have done like 16k since then.

Was it a full clutch kit fitted? ie clutch plate, cover and release bearing?

That is what the dealer said at the time yes.

I think you should have had both the pressure plate and friction plate replaced, as well as the throw-out bearing.
