On friday I bought MSI twin frozr III 7950 V2 OC, My temps are idle - 38C (Room temp around 25C) Load 79C after playing BF3 and Borderlands 2.
My question if i can swap the cards? Is it worth the hassle?
The MSI cooler on 60-67%+ Get noticable. And I know that gigabyte get`s loud at about 70-75%.
Do I pay for the return postage?
The games came along with the card will i have to send them back with the card?

59c under load? What's wrong with that?

Yes you should send the codes back although I don't know if you HAVE to send them back. If you've used them just say so and forfeit your second set of codes.

Be honest :).

Iv wanted Gigabyte and since I had good experience with OCUK didnt want to shop any were else. I bought my MSI on friday, the gigabyte wasnt in stock. Than today when i go on OCUK on GPU`s. I can see the gigabyte wf3...
After benchmarking heavy heaven behnchmark it was 66c in evga precision and 70c in HW Monitor.
But after iv played for an hour BF3 25minutes and 35minuets Borderlands 2.

Like everyone has said those temps are good. You only need to worry if they were 85c + then I would worry. imho If I had a choice between those 2 I would've waited for the Gigabyte to come back in stock.

I wont trust MSI again. just my opinion

Your temps are perfectly normal. Go play :D

I have no fans at the front, well i do but its old and doesnt buff too much air inside... BeQuiet silenwings 2x will be going on the front. The 50% fan is ok but when it goes above its noticable. In the future when the card will start to get weaker I will OC, how hot can it get after OC?

Temps do go up a little at 1150.
Case ventilation (side vents especially) will play a major part in how much. It did in my experience.
Even with decent airflow, I saw a rough 10°C difference with the side panel on and off.

Ymmv :)

The MSI cooler on 56-58+ Get noticable. And I know that gigabyte get`s loud at about 70-75%.

Ah now, you're fine. Mine idles at 55C! I'd be happy with your temps.

It's not worth the hassle, when temps hit 60c on the WF cooler, it ramps up and becomes quite loud.

I`ll also lower my room temps, but at the moment i cant since. I have new radiators which need to be heated up for couple days, thats what the guy said...
I will buy the fans today. BeQuiet Silent wings 9,98 as they seem quiet and they buff nice amount of air in.

So my card is probably the newer version than you have, Devrij.
I will probably stay with this card and have an eye on it to see if everything is okay.

I can see your OCed your card nicely.
What voltage, Temps and what % are the fans running at while your play?

85c at that overclock and it was LOUD. Even on a moderate OC of 1150 it was loud and hot though.

I've since sent it back though and exchanged for an IceQ which is 15c cooler like for like. Need to update my signature :).

Was your tf3 dodgy too?

They both were.

One was so bad I took it out as soon as I finished benching for my Surround/Eyefinity 680 SLI vs 7950 CF thread.

The first card was 'OK' but still hotter than it should have been. Once I bought an IceQ and realised this, that card has gone back too. In fact OcUK received them this morning so should be refunded soon.

Id suggest replacing the TIM with some top quality stuff, should see drops of up to 5 degrees at full load, I did. Then you can adjust your fan profile in afterburner to spin a bit slower, so it is quieter at full load. You should be able to tweak the fan profile so you hit 70C but remain fairly quiet.

Related question: do any of the manufacturers allow you to change the cooler without voiding the warranty? Like putting an aftermarket Accelero cooler on?

I'm waiting on delivery of my TF3 - hope it is one of the 'new batch' and a cooler model.

I note the OP's room temp is 27'C, making a 59'C load temp even more impressive.
