Looking a moving to a place that oversees altab Ali park on Whitechapel high street and just wants to know what the area is like in terms of safety during the day and at night.
what is Whitechapel high steet like?

Generally it's not great
I initially moved to Old Street instead of Whitechapel a few years ago as I wasn't convinced of the safety of the place - not necessarily for me, but more for my girlfriend. Having then moved to Whitechapel I can see it's not a problem at all.
At worst we get a couple of local chavs hanging out near our house, but even they move out of the way to let you past.
If you're moving to the area I think you are, then it's pretty decent. Realistically it's more Aldgate than Whitechapel, and the busier part of the Whitechapel Road is actually a bit further up (towards the big Sainsburys - that's where the market is).
It's a diverse area, some good restaurants, some good pubs and a decent atmosphere. I almost moved to Balham/Clapham a few years back, but I'm certain I made the right choice in moving here.

How so? Balham and Clapham are awesomesauce.
I grew up in South West London suburbs. There's every chance I'll settled down in SW London suburbs. So for the time being I'm trying to get a slightly different experience for a few years.
Strangely, none of my mates whom I grew up with have stayed SW and have instead gone North, East or South East. Whereas loads of people I know who have moved to London have ended up SW (I think it probably reminds them of home/there's a lot more space/it's quite quiet).
When I lived there (next to the tube stop) never had any problems, it seemed to be nice enough. Although a lot of rubbish around due to the market, but otherwise rarely heard of any issues. Though I only stayed there 3-4 months or so.
Yeah you're nearer Aldgate at that end of Whitechapel Road, which is a good thing because it's a dump towards the Whitechapel end.
I lived in the area for about 5 years. Safety wise I think it's fine, I never had or knew of any trouble really. Altab Ali Park itself is a bit dodgy though, I heard about drug dealers lurking around there etc.

I live relatively nearby. It's all a matter of perspective but it isn't great.
