Battery doesn't bother me that much. I'm coming from
iPhone's and their battery wasn't that great either! I accept that with better phones and bigger screens the battery is gonner take a hit.

I'm prepared for that. Got a car charger, plenty of chargers at home and chargers at work. I'll even keep a spare plug charger in the car should I need it when I go away. Got the cheap chargers on eBay for a few quid and saved myself a lot of frustration.

Reviews about the product have been very variable when it comes to battery life. Some said it was okay, average or poor but others said it was fine and better than Android. The 920 is certainly better than the 8x for battery life.

I'm not seeing the same problems. But then I'm not using 4G and LTE is new and more demanding on battery than 3G. The CPU works harder as it is receiving 5 times as much data.

"Better then Android" no need to flat out lie because of your hatred for the OS, want to compare NoteII battery duration to Lumia920?

Don't just make stuff up please.

As nikh23 mentioned, the battery life is pretty poor. I have cycled mine several times now, but no real massive improvement.
I'm not saying it's a terrible phone...But it's not the last word in smartphone technology.
My last phone was a note 2. But i also have an iphone 4 too...
But before i get slated, i'm no fanboy...I appreciate good solid tech, no matter the vendor...
I'm kind of still on the fence...

Thing is, the battery had impressed me so far - given that the reviews criticised it, i felt it was good, better than my iphone 4. But today it's gone off a cliff.

No notification centre...
Poor picture quality under daylight conditions...
Wi fi keeps dis connecting...
gmail implementation quite poor...
smallest font size is still too big...
Poor music player...

Not sure if i will keep it or not...and it is BIG...

No notification center. - MS have confirmed they ran out of time but its on the way

Poor picture quality under daylight conditions. Nokia are releasing a patch shortly to correct this.

Wi fi keeps disconnecting... MS have confirmed a fix is on the way.
gmail implementation quite poor... I have had no problems with it, but I would expect it to work as well as Android for obvious reasons.

smallest font size is still too big... That's a combination of a large screen and WP8 theme.

Poor music player... I have had no problems with WP7.5, seems to work well.

I have had my 920 nearly a week now...
I'm not massively impressed with it...

There are a number of annoyances...No notification centre...Poor picture quality under daylight conditions...Wi fi keeps dis connecting...gmail implementation quite poor...smallest font size is still too big...Poor music player...

Not sure if i will keep it or not...and it is BIG...

Interesting. I was worried about the size when I ordered it, but upon receiving it I think it is perfect, being more square than the GS3. It is heavier than any other phone I've owned, but not excessively and certainly isn't an issue like some reviews suggest!

I've never been a big fan of notification centres on any device, I don''t really use them. So not an issue for me, but can see why this would annoy some.

Not taken many photos yet, so can't comment.

Not noticed a Wi-Fi problem either.

About to install gmail so will comment later.

Font size isn't an issue for me.

My only gripes are that the phone feels 'slippy' in my hand. I'm worried I'm going to drop it every time I take it out my pocket. Also is there a way to keep the battery icon and other symbols on the home screen at all times? Otherwise I'm loving it and loving WP8!

Edit: Anyone know what the 3 wavy lines are at the top that appear next to the bluetooth symbol?

Interms of gmail gripes.....are you guys not setting it up via MS Exchange?
I would have thought if you did it via exchange the experience would be the same as android and iOS..?!

I was quoting reviews that mentioned the 920 battery life was better than Android phones.

But you simply can't expect to run a quad core CPU on an OS with a virtual machine running much of the interface and application code without expecting a hit in terms of battery life.

Like I said before, there may be issues with some phones or versions of the OS, so don't take the current performance to be "normal":

And don't accuse people of lying in a public forums., that's libellous.

Battery has dropped 10% in the last hour since my last post through minimal usage. Maybe as the sat nav is in beta it has some glitch causing the drain?

Compared to my last dual core everyday device the Samsung Galaxy Nexus the 920 seems to be slightly better. Compared to my HTC One X the 920 is considerably better IMO. So I agree, the 920 at the moment seems to be doing very well for me.

Have you tried a factory reset? I remember when I first got my Omnia 7 I had awful battery drain and then I performed a factory reset and it seemed to sort itself out.

Just rang t-mobile, they don't know if they've sent ANY out, but it *should* be here be the 23rd, but they don't know.

Thanks T-Mobile!!!! Awesome launch!!!

Only got to look at the official specs to see battery life compared to rivals. But these figures aren't audited by anyone, some overstate others are conservative.

No review site worth anything at all would compare battery life on anything but a phone by phone basis so feel free to show me your sources where a reputable review site states "Windows Phone 8 has better battery life then Android". Android battery life differs massively depending on manufacturer's software implementations. Again your talking complete crud, but Ill leave you to your blind fanboidem.

Have you tried a factory reset? I remember when I first got my Omnia 7 I had awful battery drain and then I performed a factory reset and it seemed to sort itself out.

It's been fine for the first four days, but if it's like this again tomorrow I may have to. Hoping it is just something to do with the satnav, I can just leave that alone until it gets fixed if that is the case.

The ones you can get on Orange PAYG from EE stores for £399, can anyone confirm the network lock on them, please? I'm close to giving up and buying, but would rather not use Orange. Would they, for example, take a Virgin sim?

Blind fanboyism? I think you're also guilty of that then.

I've owned the following phone/PDA platforms:

Windows Mobile (both touch and smartphone).
DOS/Geos (Nokia 9110).
Symbian
Windows Phone 7
iOS
Palm

So does that make me a fanboy? a fanboy is someone who sticks to a particular brand regardless of quality, price or merit. Given how many platforms I've used you can't accuse me of that.

I buy products on their merit, reliability, lack of hassle and quality. Not branding, marketing or otherwise.

Don't just dismiss people because they don't agree with you, you don't know me. I'm massively into DIY electronics, programming and all manner of things. I'm a technical person, not a troll accusing people of lying.
