Toyo T1R Proxes 195-50-15 tyres £29.89 + £2.99 p+p @CamSkill

Garbage tyre and I rue the day I listened to people who said they were good. They are cheap for a reason.

bout time we heard the truth. I do not understand how they are rated so well, oh probably because they are half the price of a CS3/5 or any top performing tyre.

Quoting these posts for page 5 because I don't want anyone to ever make the same mistake I have done with these Toyo T1CRAP

Just had a couple of part worn T1-Rs put on the back of the mx5 for a giggle. I'll go for a drive later and see just how good/bad these really are.

Apparently the standard wheel size for my mk1.5 Focus is 195/60/r15, however the current tyres are all 195/55/r15. PremiumContact 5s in 195/50/r15 are much cheaper on mytyres but I'm unsure if they will actually fit on the rim properly?

I've already used the tyre calculator and it says there is roughly a 6% difference between 195/60 and 195/50 but I'm just wondering how signifacnt it will actually be?

well, made it home without dying :D

To be fair, they are not awful, they are just not good, and the frustration comes from people claiming they are a brilliant tyre when they are awful in comparison to decent rubber.

I got suckered in but then I am not ashamed to admit that the are rubbish and regret it.

i admittedly nearly span off the road on proxes yesterday but then again i was driving like a ******

In Eagle F1's I could drive, very comfortably, on the limit (well, what I felt was my limit) with no issues. That limit is severely reduced on these naff Toyo things

Fair comments - I bought them because they were cheap, I wasn't looking for amazing tyres and well I was hoping for a little slip n' slide so I could enjoy my mx at low speeds in wet weather.

I paid £40 fitted for them with 5.5mm tread so if they really are terrible it's not a massive loss.

Well have to report these don't feel all too shabby on the rear of the car. They're definitely better than the illegal linglongs I had on before. Predictably they are not as good as contisportcontacts etc. but they are not as bad as I was expecting from the reviews.

Pound for pound they seem very good value for money, although if I were looking for proper performance I'd most likely overlook them.

I wouldn't say they're a terrible tyre, they're just not a performance tyre..

Never lost grip when I had them, just jelly sidewall when pushing them, which felt terrible! They came with my current car
