anyone had trouble with sms messages, cant seem to get them to send

Yes, have to resend a couple of time before it works...GiffGaff sim here same one and never had any problems with it.

Also..I get a SMS/ notification to tell me that "that message was free to another GG user"....wonder how I stop that.

And to add, yea, the Vib sounds rattly on mine too.

im just getting "cant send"

After my battery scare yesterday, it seems fine today - been off charge 12 hours and is on 56% after moderate usage. Must have been the Nokia drive app.

To anyone who didn't get the sticker for the free charger, I spoke to Phones4u on the phone earlier, and they said to phone Nokia on 0843 308 7877, with my IMEI handy and they will sort it. P4U said I could call them today to get it ordered, even though the promotion supposedly doesn't start until tomorrow, but didn't have time to do it so no idea if it would have worked.

Balance notifications are a giffgaff feature, see their site for more info. As for it not sending sometimes, check the message center number is correct.

Can anyone get a free charger or just P4U orders?

Thought at first maybe it was open to anyone, but looking at t&c's it is p4u only. Although it does say you can enter with just the IMEI if you don't have the promotional sticker, so perhaps it might be worth a try. Unless they use your personal details to check if it was bought at a P4U or not...

well no. because its all about syncing on demand unless you explicitly have a setting changed... (if possible)

the emailing is pushed to your phone (or it polls for emails coming in).
not only that. what if you didnt have data connection? how would it delete? it wouldnt. think of it as "preparing" to do things before finally commiting to doing them

iOS and Android do it immediately, which is what I would prefer.

If you didn't have a data connection, it would queue it until you did.

Hmm great phone but a few downsides:

Gmail implementation not the greatest. Emails arrive late, early and sometimes not at all. Deleting them means they stay on the server for a bit.
I also hate how you have to download images on a email everytime!! Even things like company banners. Wish emails would come through as they should be.

Whatsapp notifications not on lock screen. Likewise for Kik.

Needs more than 5 notifications on the lock screen.

I wish the status bar would remain at the top on the home screen. The Sybil's for wifi and reception disappear.

I realise these are WP8 issues and not nokia's but it's a pain :-/

I don't have a problem per say with Gmail, as I have set it up I the normal Google account method with it setup to be delivered as they arrive. That said I don't really use GMail much these days.

That's my only real gripe with the email client, downloading the pictures can be a pain but I can also see why they have done it like that. Hopefully as WP8 progresses all these little niggles get ironed out. I see the WP8 as a vast improvement over the Android mail client which I had on the SGS2 and SE Arc, the overall presentation is much cleaner.

The notification, has been a talking point on a number of forums which I used / look at. MS have gone on record and said they simply ran out of time, so that should be coming with the next update.

At a guess, once the Whatsapp gets a update it should support notications on the main screen.

What I have noticed about the 920 coming from the 800 is how loud the phone is and the overall improved audio quality, I am really very impressed with it and also means I don't have to carry around the iPad as I have been using that as audio player.

I did notice about the vibrating on the phone, its pretty vicious coming from the 800. However, I do agree it does sound a bit iffy, I am not too fussed about it.

Typically, like everything else Nokia, the vibrate in this was obviously meant to be used to break up paving stones.

Is their an option to turn it off on their site?

Scratch that found it thank god, funny is I NEVER got one notification on my L800.
