Crossover SUV type car, things.

I actually really like the yeti. Had a sit in a 1.8 TSi 4x4 Elegance and it seemed rather nice. They remap really really well and everyone seems to rave about the handling.

I was planning on picking up a Defender or Terrano for the job but it would be parked up 90% off the time. Plus I have a little Ford for running around in that I was about to change soon anyway.

Its a 2 birds with one stone car.

The VW has a max towing capacity of around 2250kg and the Yeti is rated at about 2050kg which is close but leaves me with a little spare.

Also take a look at a double cab pickup (Navara etc), I used one for towing kit cars around for a few years. Take a look at insurance and tax disc costs as they are quite cheap.

Andi.

A) Those awards are completely meaningless.

B) Crossovers are family cars trying to be offroaders and failing badly at both.

I have to say the Tiguan is a very nice drive and would make a great family car.

It's never going to get near a something like a Landrovers for offroad capability, but a Landrover is not even in the same league as the Tiguan on road.

I understand what your saying though.

It averaged (on paper, not on the trip) about 41mpg generally. You could push it a little higher without much effort though and driving really gently would see it nudging, if not exceeding, 50mpg. Depends on what you're doing with it, of course...

Well, I went and had a look at everything I was interested in today.

After that I drove to the Skoda dealer expecting an easy decision to drive straight to the VW dealer and buy a Tiguan. Sadly the Yeti is a ******* amazingly good car and I'm in a conundrum again over the two.

There are two guy at work with Tiguans and both are forever in the garage. I'very got a CR-V and love (though I would still prefer to be driving round in something fast as hell)

Peugeot 4007 (Outlander with French designed clothes on). I posted in Berger's thread he has linked to, about mine. Fantastic family SUV and as well as being an excellent drive on the road with a grunty powerplant it is actually quite capable off road too. I love mine to bits. :)
