Hi,

I'm looking into flights from East Midlands Airport to Frankfurt for a possible future plan..

It'd be flying out 1st thing Monday morning and back Tuesday evening.

I can't find anywhere that doesn't charge £100's. I thought you could fly to places for £20 - £30 or has that all ended?

Thanks

Long gone. I pay taxes only for my flights to europe and that's around £25 with staff travel. The low cost model is pretty much dead, they just try to hide it with a bunch of other charges.

£700 ?!

£144 if you don't mind making a stop.

I flew from Manchester to Berlin with easyjet, and booked on the Tuesday for the Friday flight, so not exactly well in advance, and paid under £200.

We paid £75 each return for Stansted -> Dusseldorf with Air Berlin. I think you have two problems. Firstly, you're flying at very late notice (I assume you mean this coming Monday/Tuesday?) and secondly it seems none of the German airlines that you're likely to find cheaper tickets with fly from that airport (GermanWings/AirBerlin). If you can fly from London you stand a higher chance of getting more affordable tickets.

edit: just seen your latest posts. I don't think it's possible, no.

There's no specific date yet. It'd be a Monday in the future. In the New Year most likely

Flew Manchester to Berlin in October for £69 return with Lufthansa so got hold baggage included. Booked through expedia though

It's ok to get the one off deals, he wants to do it each week for a commute and takes a lot of time and hassle. My mate commuted from Schönefeld every other week and was forever price searching and if it got too expensive stayed at work instead of coming home to his family on the earliest possible flight.

Sod that for less than enough money to pay for the most expensive flight on top of my wages ;)

I was looking in advance, maybe just not far enough in advance. :)

Maybe doing this every week would be a pain in the chuff. Maybe staying there for a week per month and working from their UK branch for the rest of the month could work...

I've found the flights, when they are cheap are very 'unfitting' with general travel plans. ie - cheap flight at 18:00 Saturday evening arriving at 22:00 for £60. Flights at 06:00 are £350. I got the feeling the flight market is 'manipulated' :)

Hahn airport is only "Frankfurt" by (half) name.

It's over 120km away ;)

I flew there once to go to a festival in the middle of nowhere, which was actually closer to it than Frankfurt :p
