*** Official Nintendo Wii U thread ***

I wouldn't expect the OS to load that slowly, that could get annoying fast.

Though to be fair no matter what the Wii U ends up being and how bad 3rd party support is, I'll still get one to play the next 3D mario and next Zelda game.

Hmmm...where was this from? the ZombiU review?

To be fair there is a day one patch/update, the whole OS isn't even working properly yet UNTIL the update is installed.

Listened to the Nintendo Video Chat on IGN and they had no such concerns with any aspects of the system in terms of Lag etc, the Day One update is out today for the yanks so we shall see.

It's from the Wii U hardware reviews today.

Also jump to 47:20 on this video and you can see how long it takes to load something as simple as the activity log.

Cool thanks for that man :)

I'm hoping issues such as that will be ironed out with the update however as I see that's dated the 16th, none of the reviewers got access to the update early.

IGN postponed their hardware review for example as it isn't fully functional/updated yet.

I'm not buying the GameSpot review, there are 4 other reviews out that put it either as excellent or very good.
If there were tons of 5 and 6s out there I would be worried.

Regarding the system itself, I've seen nothing but praise from developers about how powerful it is and how easy it is to work on.
Only complaint there has been is from the ubisoft boss about the systems price.

A couple of people just out to be different I suppose.
Same kind of people who wrote the PS3 off when it was launched as well I expect.

Indeed im just going to wait until its out over here as im readings so much unsubstantiated fanboy bs from the yanks i just cba to read it any more.

BTW the main memory bandwidth is 17GBs
Which so useless a number anyway thats its totally irrevelvant.
At the end of the day there is 1gb of purely games ram in the console. Thats a lot more than the ps3 or xbox360 when you factor in that both had to support the os as well with 512mb and technically 256mb for the ps3

There's inevitably going to be a bit of bashing justified or not on any new console...

I'm looking to the rest of the reviews coming out, particularly to see how ZombiU fares on IGN (PS3 editor is reviewing it) as well as the new COD.

I have to say the more videos I see of NintendoLand the more I just think, what a gorgeous game!

Didn't Nintendo confirm its only 720p console?

Nah its 1080p :)

For example Rayman Legends and Monser Hunter will be natively 1080p

Trine 2: Directors Cut, Skylanders Giants, and Toki Tori 2 are 3 others with Trine and Toki being eShop titles :)

Seem to be a lot of wildly different views on this game. I've always felt survival horror games are very marmite and if you dont get them then you think the games rubbish.

After reading the IGN and Gamespot reviews I was ready to cancel and order a normal premium pack. My ZombiU preorder is £299, cheapest premium pack now seems to be £309.99, and doesn't include the pro controller.

Relieved to see a few positive reviews creeping out though.

Yeah I'm a bit more relieved after reading both the Eurogamer and also the CVG review (very in depth to be honest)

Plus the gamepad pro will be a necessity for the console over time :)
