I have played Super Smash Bros several times on friends' N64s since 1999. I've always known Pikachu and Kirby to be the original 2, then Jigglypuff was a 3rd character which you could only get by completing the game if I remember right. So over the last 13 years, I've had the impression that they were the 3 Pokémon characters. Plus, they kinda look the same don't they? Anyway, went to play it again recently with somebody else and got into a fairly heated argument (lol, over a game) where she said that Kirby isn't from the franchise. It no big deal, but can anyone from here confirm? Also, she said that Kirby was a 'he', although back in school I knew a girl called Kirby, plus Kirby is pink in the game :p

Kirby is a guy and not from the Pokemon franchise!

Fairy 'muff! I honestly didn't know of the Kirby series (I was a Sega kid before 1999). I just thought they looked too similar to be from separate games. And yeah lol, I know DK has his own games for N64 plus the classic 80s arcade, and that Link is from Zelda etc. Don't know where Fox, Samus, Ness are from though.

Thanks KS!

Yes, can't beat Sonic 2 or Probotector back in the 90s!

I only latched onto Mario series from N64 onwards but I'm glad that Sonic is being incorporated into Mario games like Mario/Sonic at the London 2012.

Yeah I'm not a massive Nintendo fan either. I remember Sonic was the built-in game on my Master System, and the Mega Drive was epic, back when Disney games were decent. Donald Duck, The Lion King and Aladdin! :D

Master System and Megadrive were awesome, had Alex Kid built into my slot loader Master System :p Had a Gameboy though, so spent loads of hours getting acquainted with Kirby. Aladdin was awesome back in the day, way ahead of its time.

Gotta agree with the Disney games, especially Aladdin. Pocahontas too was impressive, although I think Sega missed the boat on that one as that came out in 1996 and the Playstation was starting to take over.

Did any of the newer titles like Lilo & Stitch and Tangled get written for the consoles?
