Amazon Black Friday (week) sale!!!

I wish The Godfather 40th Anniversary collectors edition was a deal/same with scarface limited boxset.

Curious about the price of the Ftbit scales. No doubt still be stupidly expensive though.

Won't be able to check when they go on sale.

You guys still have 7 days DSR if you change your mind, just don't open any media and shavers, ear rings etc for hygiene reasons.

It seems like this is really only worth it if they discount stuff you're already looking at buying. If not, nothing is going to be so cheap it's just worth buying it for the sake of buying it...

I said that elsewhere, this is the cliff notes of Amazon Black Friday sales

1 - There are a lot of tat
2 - There are 1% of bargains
3 - You have to be quick
4 - Be sure to check it on Google within that 15 minute window
5 - Use that time to think hard if it is what you need, rather than want.
6 - Don't get swept away from the euphoria of getting it in the basket and then check out. If its not a good deal, then its not a good deal - READ point 4
7 - Can always return under DSR people !

I don't quite understand how this works but I'm looking for a new digital camera.
Do I just check what deals are coming up, google the price & if it's a good deal just buy it as you normally would with them when the deal's live? :)

Pretty much!

Amazon shows you what deals are coming up and what time they start, if you click on the item it'll show you the price amazon currently have it at as well.

The deal for that item becomes live at the set time and it's first come first served to add it to the basket.

When it's in your basket you have 15mins to purchase it of not it goes to the first person on the waiting list.

15 mins is good for checking prices elsewhere etc.

I'm going to keep my eyes pealed for a beard trimmer and a few bits for
Home...it is mostly tat mind!

Yep. Basically know how much something is worth before it comes up. You don;t know what the offer price is going to be until the time though.

Add it to your basket straight away. You have 15 mins to check out if not, it goes back into the pot. Then decide if it's a good enough discount to elsewhere. Ignore Amazon's rrp price though.

Oh and register/login before your item comes up. I have known people miss out as by the time they have logged in, the item has all sold out.

If there's something you like have a nosey online beforehand and get a rough price in mind then when it comes to adding it to basket you're already set etc

That's what I did

Yeah Greebo, good point, assume that 15mins is 13/14 as it takes a min or 2 to go through payment/delivery confirmation screens etc. Ive lost out on this last year because of this...

ps3ud0

Yup, until you have hit that confirm order button, the clock is still ticking.

Just don't forget to check elsewhere for prices, Amazon tend to show everything as full RRP when comparing. There was a watch on earlier for £62.50, that said £250 rrp, but look at the site now and its listed as £150 normally, and similar watches(can't find the exact one) seem to be £60-80.

I've so far bought a steam cleaner... which I've cancelled, and a lamp which on seeing some pretty bad reviews on the replacement light bulbs(people saying hard to come out, breaking lightbulbs which mercury filled ain't good, and last for weeks rather than years, I'll probably send back).

This is on top of another desk lamp I bought from them last week that turned up today.... and is broken, and a mouse which I'm sending back... woo.

Not been a good week for me and amazon.
