Ideally - but not every app tells you it's requirements believe it or not. Accuweather being one.
 
Can anyone recommend a decent Facebook Messenger app? So why is Facebook showing no love to the WP platform? Not even an official FB app is a little strange.

Also, another thing I have noticed, it seems to take about 10 minutes to receive toast notifications, is this the same for everyone? SMS seems to be instant although whatsapp and Facebook take ages.

Weird. Where are you seeing this? When i check requirements in the store it doesn't mention a version. Are you checking from a WP8 device?

Edit: I'm guessing through the windowsphone website? I checked on there and it does indeed say 7.5 or higher, yet on the WP8 store on the device, it doesn't mention anything.

Must be going via Microsoft's push notification system, so that's either slow or the phone doesn't "poll" very often to save battery life.
 
Got mine today in black and i'm pretty impressed so far. Its going to take some getting used to after IOS!

Does anybody know of a good iTunes alternative that will sync with this phone? I've tried the windows phone and WMP which are both no good.
 
I said earlier in this thread I don't usually get cases for my phones, but this black 920 is gonna mark like a *****.

Going to have to put something on the back of it. Anybody put a case on theirs?
 
what do you use to download fils, videos or tv programes etc, on iphone obviously used itunes from my phone, what option is there?

On the EE add it shows Kevin Bcon streaming a film to her phone, but cant see anything to use.

The black is matt, don't forsee it marking to be honest. Glossy tends to mark and scratch like a beach. I am getting / waiting patiently for my Chinese hard case from ebay, to protect it when it slip and knock the floor.

My last 2 hard case saved my Lumia 800 from concrete floor and road side drops.
 
Hmm, maybe my hard did protect from scratches too then... I did use my Lumia for 2 months without a case, always had a pocket to itself, screen facing inwards and never chucked / slide across surfaces, that might have helped too

It's already started, very fine marks on the back.
 
Was going to get a refund on my 920 from Phones 4u and get the £399 deal but none of my local EE stores had stock, one told me they had been told not to sell SIM free. Figured that they wont probably get much PAYG stock in if they are trying to push contracts.

Just decided to get an exchange, ok Im paying £50 over versus EE but I've got a non clicking phone (was starting to really bug me!) and I claimed for the charger for the faulty phone and now ive got this new one, maybe ill get lucky and have two chargers arrive!

Plus i just complained to Xbox that my music pass wasn't activating on my phone because i had reached the limit of devices, and got a month for nothing, so all good id say :D
 
Picked up a lovely black 920 from EE today, had to convince the guy to sell me one PAYG however I had waited about 20 minutes to be served as they only had two staff and they both were selling phones to people when I popped in.

Managed to get promised a wireless charger as they had none in stock and a pair of headphones so hopefully I'll be contacted soon, or I'll just pop in every now and again to get a charger :)

Just gotta wait for my virgin sim to arrive now.

And for my P4U envelope to appear so I can send back my faulty red. Was really nice hearing the black one's speaker working properly :)
 
Everyone check out the market place apps, Nokia list of apps, including Mirrors Edge is listed as free on my phone. Is there some promotion or what?

Yeah, I bought one after going to pick up my phone and dropping it on the garage floor. £400 phone, put it in a £1.36 case LOL.

In all fairness It's pretty good, very good infact, it extends 0.5mm above the phone screen, so even if you put if face down on the table, the screen won't touch. It actually looks pretty damn good on the phone as well, and more importantly, gives 10000% better grip. :D
