how often do you buy your GF flowers?

I consider them a waste of money really, and they are hideously overpriced if you buy them from a proper florist and not a supermarket/garage. The amount we're actually at home they hardly get looked at anyway.

surely buying her flowers every x amount of days/weeks defeats the whole point of buying her flowers? I buy my GF flowers at random, that way she doesn't come to expect them and it is always a surprise when I do.

not really, its not a set 2 weeks defiantly or set 4 weeks defiantly just what i try to do,, i've gone 3-4 months without buying her any and she didn't say a word and was just as suprised when i did eventually get her some as to when i get her them every couple weeks.

She never gets into the motion of expecting them.

My ex used to always say she liked that I didn't do romantic or special thing too often, because when I did she knew I meant it and it made it more special.

I only ever bought her flowers once. And that was 2 weeks after she dumped me :p

trying to win her back or just saying thanks for getting me out of that before i had to do it ? :D

My OH has never bought me a bunch of flowers before.... :(

However! We were in tesco a few weeks ago and there was an Tesco Finest Orchid (in a pot and everything) reduced to £8.50 from £15 which he said I could have as long as it lasts and I dont kill it :D

Better than a bunch of flowers cause it will keep flowering and it looks beautiful in the living room on the fireplace :)

you have to keep the dammed thing alive. Best of luck on that one. Trixy buggers orchids

I see what you did there ;)

I did all right with my last one tbh - it lived for about 12 months - until I moved back in with my Mum and Dad (both keen gardeners) and it was dead within 2 months :(

My mum pruned it back after it had finished flowering...it never flowered again :(

got 1 in the frontroom, so far lasted 18 months, keeping fingers crossed it'll last another year at least

to be fair. there was absolutely no intention in that whats so ever. unless of course my retardo dyslexic brain saw your username and did it. which it is mildly possible

I buy them for her every time she goes down on me. I haven't bought her flowers in years.

I will quote 'Devrij from OcUK' and see how she reacts :D

A waste of money on a rapidly depreciating asset, but they are nice once in a while, but only if she deserves them.

Bought some from Next recently that were really s***, The wife was really happy with them (seems she's easily pleased) but I took some pictures and complained to customer services. I got my 43 quid back to spend on man stuff so It was a win all round.

I get flowers twice a year, on my birthday and on valentines day.
I always wish for flowers on my birthday. I don't ask for anything else because I don't need stuff. My birthday is in the summer too, so it is a nice way to bring the summer inside the house :)
My boyfriend does think that it is a waste of money but he is an honourable man who puts aside his opinions on the matter to make me happy! Flowers mean so much to me, I grew up spending all my summers in the country, planting flowers and picking wild ones. It is difficult to plant or pick your own when you live in a city.

Edit: Oh, and my dad gives me tulips every time I fly over to visit. I'm not sure why he buys me tulips because that's the only flower I hate. He seem to find them somewhere all year around too! Maybe it is a hint of some sort :D
