Is this an exciting time of the year for you? Christmas deals and amazon and Steam are fun to watch and buy from. I can imagine if i was 12 again i would have probably been frustrated at this time of the year, all those games and things on amazon going for cheap, but not being able to buy any of them. Also id probably be bugging my parients into buying me cheap stuff 'coz it would save them at xmas time'. But i know i would have got nowhere with that.

When i was young i could buy new games for £1.99 from my local news agent for cash, so there was no need, for a paypal account (even if it existed back then), or debit card.

I get quite a nice bonus from my work so i have a small amount to play with over the holiday period (although most of it goes on the family!) and its only been over the last few years ive activally participated in the whole 'buying things off the net for cheap over xmas' thing.

I feel sorry for those who cannot do this, because its fun - although that last sentence seems really badly worded and that i have some sadistic fun in other people pain, which i dont! - I have really enjoyed the whole activity of watching the net for deals on things i wouldnt have otherwise considered buying.

I don't get excited over sales.

It's an exciting time of year for me because nothing says Christmas like sunburn, swimming in the sea and BBQ's!

BBQ reindeer?

I just get excited about the winter season for being in the mountains, as well as family time over Christmas, which is a massive thing for me. I love it. Gets me through SAD nicely!

The opposite, it drives home how consumption driven our society has become.

I think society has always been like this and there has always been people who think they are at the forefront of change, but who are actually just youthful.

Another thing i used to hate was halloween, but now i find no offence to people knocking on my door, as long as its not after 8pm and not teenagers who dont make an effort.

January 14th will be an exciting time of the year, BAAAAAHHHHH HUMBUG!

But no really, working in retail at Christmas sucks!
